Now that Davide Squillace's 10 release project Minisketch has been completed, Davide Squillace keeps moving in interesting directions. The next project is called HIDEOUT, here's the first release on the label. Besides Davide Squillace himself, artist that will be participating in the label project include Audiofly, Dubfire, doP, Paul Ritch, Matthias Kaden, Luca Bacchetti, and some even bigger names to come. Like the above, Davide is no stranger to the international dance music circuit. The studied audio engineer is one of the most successful Neapolitan techno DJs worldwide. Also known by his other imprints Sketch and Titbit, and releases on renowned labels like Josh Wink's Ovum, the German label Resopal and Alex Under's CMYK, Davide is part of Circo Loco Ibiza crew, rocking the island with a residency at DC10. Lucca Bacchetti is known for his varied style, from squeaking, jerky minimal to wide-open, percussive techno, to hypnotic, lights-out tracky house. Luca's expertly-produced music has earned him a reputation for producing nothing but quality, dancefloor-devastating tracks. That status was cemented this year when Beatport nominated him as one the 'Best Artists' in its inaugural BMA 2008. Remixes and original work requests gave Luca an international profile: he's remixed and produced for labels like Wagon Repair, Ovum, SCI+TEC, Minisketch, Saw Recordings, Viva Music, Tommy Boy, Meerestief and loads more.

West Side Story / Around The Bay

Setting off with a full bodied beat, West Side Story makes its entrance with a wealth of sounds going on. Like lots of small chapters telling their tales, unusual vocal samples, electronic accents and an unexpected flute appearance are just some of the ingredients that keep this tune on its toes, and allow it to give more when you least expect it. A superbly high impact track.
Next up, Around The Bay creeps in with a hypnotic spin, requisite bassline and some pretty eerie vocals. Whether it’s the lyrics or the spooky tones of the voice featured, this track is an odd offering. However, thanks to being a favourite of Tiefschwarz’s it undoubtedly has a home somewhere deep, down and densely dark in the grimiest of late night clubs, if that’s your bag.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for something a bit more up-tempo, don’t miss the digital bonus where “Planetaria lift things up nicely again”, states DJ mag. I couldn’t agree more – this hidden gem is where the EP really comes into its own as the pace picks up and a looped sequence of horns steal the limelight. Tanking on like a burning fuse, the track continues to race towards the end before fizzling out just at the right time and not a minute before.

art creative and renowned DJ & producer in his own right, Davide has the
ability to express himself audibly and visually through the different
platforms he has created over the years. Since establishing his music
career over a decade ago, Davide’s dynamic sound continues to light up
and inspire dancefloors, spanning over many continents. Constantly
pushing the boundaries of electronic music, his sound is an eloquent mix
of techno, dance, indie, instrumental and downtempo beats. His side
project, Better Lost Than Stupid sees Davide collaborate with fellow
revered DJ’s: Martin Buttrich and Matthias Tanzmann. Also passionate
about art and culture, Davide established two creative brands and artist
collectives, This And That and Blender.
