Diese Tage bin ich Sumpf, bin Berg und Tal,

Erdrutsch ist und das Kraftjahr vorbei.

Doch mittendrin steigst du nicht aus.
Die Welt streckt manchmal Hände rein.

Mich beschränken auf einen Schritt, in dem ich ganz bin.
In mir wacht eine auf, deren Tanz noch unverbraucht,
unschuldig und laut.

Hier, dieser Vogel ist meiner und seine Spannkraft bin ich.
Ich schwelle ihm Flügel, ich male ihn bunt
und werfe ihm den Flug zu,
lasse ihn aus Flammen steigen, aus stillem Warten.

Hinterm dem dunklen Horizont ist die Sonne!
Die Sonnenstunde klärt und das Nachtschiff legt an. 
Das Schweigmeer gibt mich frei in ein neues Zeitmaß.
Mein Schritt hat andere Spuren.

For this piece, I wanted to create a large dreamy soundscape with a lot of movement and layers.
I started with dry sounds (turned off built-in reverb in the kontakt patches) and built the ambience using multiple instances of Valhalla Delay (8 total).
The pitch shifting and diffusion controls make it quite capable of producing pad-like and reverb-like sounds from simple dry instruments.

Instruments/plugins used on this piece (for the initial version):

- Valhalla Delay with the following factory presets as a starting point: 
  PITCH-Ultimate Vocal Widener, 
  DIGITAL-Dotted 8th-Note Guitar,
  TheCrystalShip, 
  HiFi-Modulated Plate, 
  TAPE-Guitar Heaven, 
  DIGITAL-Cygnus X-1
- Dexed/DX7 E.PIANO1 (from original DX7 ROM)
- Cinesamples Tina Guo Legato Cello (reverb off)
- Kawai K4 Sunrise Pad (sampled, kontakt reverb off)
- Super JP Brass 3 (from Retro Machines MK2, kontakt reverb off)
- Melda Production multi-band compressor (MDynamicsMB)

Here are some of the changes in the 2021 remix:

- U-He Satin tape emulation used on every track and stereo mix bus
I used the natural compression and saturation from the tape to glue and enhance the mix.
I drove the DX7 E. Piano harder on the tape to get some extra coloration and presence.

- Melda Production Auto Dynamic Eq was used on every track to refine the mix and control dynamics, especially on the E. Piano.
Some presence and width was also added on the stereo mix by enhancing the side channel highs.

- A very subtle global reverb send was added using Valhalla Plate to add some presence and glue things together.

Ho iniziato lo studio da autodidatta per poi consolidare le conoscenze musicali ai Civici Corsi di Jazz di Milano. Ho avuto l'occasione di studiare con importanti musicisti del panorama jazz italiano tra cui Franco Cerri, Mario Rusca, Marco Vaggi, Gabriele Comeglio e Claudio Fasoli. Ho partecipato a seminari di perfezionamento con Gerald Cannon, Dave Liebman,  Johnatan Kreisberg, Roberto Gatto e Dave Kikoski. Ho diversi progetti musicali che cercano di proporre e condividere l' incontro tra le più diverse idee musicali e artistiche senza limiti, giudizi e pregiudizi.
