Had sharp little claws

Ignored them one-by-one 
Until the day I realised T
hat you and I were done 
Crimson, scarlet, ruby
I should have seen them come 
Nevermind, coz next time
I won’t be so dumb

You hood-winked me for pleasure
When I trusted you 
Your kiss made me forgetful 
And disguised your dupe
But I think I always knew
Deep down anyways
That you weren’t the one
Weren’t worth my everydays

Until the day I realised 
That you and I were done

I should have seen them come 
Nevermind, coz next time

A better man would have left long ago 
But I had faith that you could change
At least I had hoped so 
But leopards don’t apparently 
So maybe you can’t either

Where the grass grows greener
