Temple Burn - Fractal Planet Burning Man 2013

Live at Suspended Animation in the 7 O'Clock Plaza; Miss AppleCat Returns to Cargo Cult; this years Playa adventure and the closing of a Journey started three years ago. This mix marks the ascension from a dusty child like state to the next evolution of Desert Dwelling Feline.

Watching the red sun rise over the flat lands cradled by the temple, a chrysalis; just as I started my journey in 2011 I ended it as such; welcomed and sent off with the bright red warmth of my father sun against the dark blue skies that house my Mama Moon; together creating promenading water colours and harmonic duality in the dawn; endings and beginnings; circles and 3's.


This mix is dedicated to that same darkness and light; to grime and beauty; to death and rebirth. To rev(a/o)luation; to acceptance, to endurance and to love. 


Big Thanks to Suspended Animation for having me at their camp and doing their best to distract me with their sexiness.

I had a blast playing 7 sets at Burning Man this year! Here is one of my favorites, an afternoon hip hop set played at UFOm, which offers participants a chance to take part in an interactive foam and water performance piece that impressively resembles a group shower. This set was played to about 200 people, most of them naked and either waiting to get in or having just gotten out of the foam performance. Good times :)

Thanks to all the awesome people of Black Rock City who rock out with such precision and dedication. Y'all are amazing.

this is the set i played at camp q wed night burning man 2013.  thanks and love to all the camp q folks who worked their fucking asses off, to all the brainstorm fam who came out to play, rep and perform, and to everyone else who made it in front of the stage to get down w me.  it was an epic night and an epic burn. 
i picked these tracks with a 100,000 watt pk system, and my basshead friends  in mind.  808 heavy, bass heavy, head knocking, neck snapping dope shit.   
*note* this was recorded live and unedited.  at the very end i cut the bass for the next performer to mix in and then the song abruptly  ends. :)  #realshit

Happy Burning Man New Year (BMNY)! Given the energy so many of our communities contribute to make Burning Man the event it is, we could use our own calendar year (particularly if it came with additional vacation days for Burners!). Like most year ends, a dose of not-too-serious reflection in our case can be a good exercise.

 SpaceCowboys on-playa this year did some different things…since we reckoned “Wednesday is the new Friday”, “Orange is the new Black”, and “Breaks is the new Breaks”, we moved the timing of our annual Hoe Down to Wed. We also shifted the location to the deepest in the playa it has ever been. Based on the 1,000+ people and ~35 mobile art cars/pieces that joined in the shenanigans over the course of the night, we were simply delighted to see so many friends and communities join us ‘out there’.

 We promise to have even more crazy stuff like this year’s sushi, pork, beer from Denver, and so on next year. If anyone can find the SpaceCowboys a good deal on a mechanical bull or bungee bull, please contact DJ Shissla on FaceBook. Most importantly, we look forward to more of all of you J.

 Speaking of you kick-ass Hoe Down attendees, the SpaceCowboys drank a special Table Shot (long story) of Jameson to you at the end of the Hoe Down - because you were so dang professional with MOOP. We’ve never seen a cleaner playa post-Hoe Down, all thanks to you sexy, holdin’-it-down burners we’re so happy to call friends.

Affkt is one of the key names in the Suara's history. Not only for been the mastering engineer of the label since a couple of years, but for his great contribution to our catalogue. Remixes, EPs, tracks on compilations or Showroom releases, this awesome Spanish producer is not a newby in our headquarters. He's probably one of the most eclectic producers of the current techno/house scene thanks to his unique ability to do big dancefloor bombs and blow your mind with infinite melodies and emotive beats. To be honest we prefer the 2nd option. Actually we really love Affkt's introspective and poppy tunes. And that's what he offer us "Jakla" and "Aoub": beautiful and emotive stuff. What Affkt's does best in our opinion. Two German deep tech house stars like Gorge & Tube & Berger are on the remix duties. David Isaac has been an avid fan of house music since 1994.  In 1995 he relocated from his hometown of Seattle, WA to Los Angeles, CA where his interest in DJing really began to blossom.  After a couple years of passing out mix-tapes to the local promoters in LA, he finally got his chance to play at “Insomnia”, one of LA’s most notable after-hours parties that took place in the late 90’s.  It wasn’t long before he became a resident at “Insomnia” and at a Sunday weekly event called “The Mix”.

In 2010, he relocated to San Francisco where he enjoyed over a year of being a resident DJ at Temple Nightclub before finally moving back to Los Angeles in 2012.  His time in San Francisco introduced him to the Burning Man community, and upon returning to Los Angeles found himself knee deep in the local micro-festival scene.  During this period he was blessed to be a resident of the Blackbird Bus art-car, and co-founded a weekly event with Christi Mills called “Unity”.  In 2021 he relocated once again, this time to San Antonio, TX where he's now a member of "Mint Condition", a DJ collective with Adam Madrigal, Alain Baylon, Anthony Garcia, and Culliere.

David has several releases on a handful of record labels that include Wulfpack, Be Adult, and Temple Music Group.  In the late 90’s he and long time friend DJ Tone released a white-label mash-up of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean and Madonna’s Holiday.  Now, they have teamed up again and have begun to release music as “Vert Der Ferk".
