Date with kate is passionate about slow sound. Her sets, saturated with folk sounds from Africa, South America or the Middle East, make the audience carelessly drift off into the world of the Orient. In her compositions she combines melodic downtempo, tribal, deep and progressive house. She is inspired by mysticism and esotericism, which can be seen during her performances, which often take the company of a certain ritual - a musical connection with the non-material, spiritual world.

So this was epic! Playing @ Thuishaven Amsterdam! My favorite place for a party in Amsterdam and perhaps the best venue in Amsterdam? Rumours have it that he escaped from a confetti factory in some faraway place, and that he was on the road with a flea circus afterwards. That would explain why all those sepia-coloured scenes from exotic places appear before the inner eye of his listeners: With the steady, hypnotic rattle of a steam train in the background, they show sequences from Middle East, South America, India, and from the infinite realms of Inner Space. It's this organic amalgamation of traditional, hand-played music and the digital functionality of House beats that makes Timboletti a very special DJ and producer.

Unser heutiger Podcast kommt von unseren Freunden von Gedankenklang e.V. … genauer gesagt von Zenoção. Marcelo kommt aus Brasilien und lebte einige Zeit in Lissabon … einer meiner Lieblingsstädte in Europa, wohnt aber seit geraumer Zeit in Deutschland. Auch wenn er jetzt sesshaft geworden ist … bleibt er doch ein Reisender. Vor allem mit der Gedankenklang-Family ist er die letzten Jahre auf diversen Festivals und Clubs anzutreffen gewesen wie z. B. Meeresrauschen, Wilde Möhre, Sisyphos, Klunkerkranich, Love Fundation um nur einige Stationen zu nennen.

Marcelos DJ-Performance zu beschreiben ist nicht einfach … deswegen lassen wir ihn selbst sprechen.

We start the year with a powerful and groovy set from Ágatha Barbosa (a.k.a. @a_cigarra, recorded in Berlin at a Voodoohop party. 

Cigarra is a DJ and magic producer who grew up in the dense underground scene of São Paulo and participated in the effervescence of its parties and festivals as well as in the original formation of Voodoohop, and is the leader / curator of the all-female compilation series “Hystereofônica" at @tropicaltwistarecords. Cigarra also recently created a label dedicated to experimental & downtempo female artists / producers, also called @hystereofonica. Her unique taste, productions and positive initiatives  makes her a true inspiration to us.

German-born David Juno discovered electronic music in Jena before moving to New Zealand. Melody and organic sounds are at the core of the music he is passionate about, through different tempos and moods within the 4/4 realm of house and downtempo.
