Shepherds of Cats is a unique audiovisual project created in collaboration between musicians and visual artist. Using free improvisation as their primary tool, the group tells audio stories inextricably entangled with the visual context. The audiovisual performances, which are created in real time, establish a distinct relationship with the audience, who is immersed in an atmospheric mass of sound, a hypnotic and rhythmic meditation, a frenetic dialogue of instruments, noisy chaos or a pleasantly melodic experience.

I was born in Leicester and started playing the guitar there in 1995. I moved to Manchester in 1999 and still live here.

As a musician I'm interested in composing forms to improvise within and improvising without forms using the guitar. I am interested in exploring that instruments total tonal possibilities through tunings, intergration of melodic and abstract sounds and preparations.

On rare occasions I work as a promoter of gigs always operating in a DIY manner.

Satoshi Sugiyama creates handmade books and music with his family in the small studio “Bonami” in Manazuru, Japan. He learned letterpress printing, hand-binding and playing the guitar on his own.
6 books and 3 music albums were released by Bonami so far.
