This is the mix I did for Halloween 2020, after when Halloween used to be a "thing". This is a PUMPIN' & high BPM mix; perfect for working out or wildin' out. "Thriller" as a nod to Michael Jackson, but "A Classic" because I pulled most tracks from my "Classics" folder, which is where I file remixes with classic vocals. I have some heavy Tekno in the mix, but hopefully you enjoy the remixes that I used. The vocals on almost every track are classic, from genres that span House, Techno, Pop, Trance, and even a twist of Hip-Hop, and vocals that span from the 80’s to 2020. Lots of vocals in this mix since I was DJing for a large crowd that consisted of a lot of commercial music listeners, but I threw in an underground twist to introduce them to them to underground sounds ;)

A Classic Thriller (Halloween 2020) - David Paul

Hello everyone, thank you for tuning in to my mix, Underground Teknology. This is a live recording from my set my afterhours in August, which was literally held underground. I brought in some of SF’s favorite DJs including d.Santis from our Funky Teknomics team, as well as Bairfro, Larissa Porto, & Br3nt of Junkshop. Everyone threw down some amazing sets and rocked the dancefloor from start to finish. This is a live recording from my set at Club F8 on Friday 8.26.16. An event I did with Robot Ears bringing in Ramiro Lopez aka "El Teknero" (coined by me, lol) from Spain. His live mix from the night is on his "Odd Recordings" page on SoundCloud.

This set was recorded on an Allen & Heath Xone 92 mixer (no laptop, no sync button of course), which I am not familiar with, please excuse the hiccups in my mix :) Since I am not content with my mix, I will be using these tracks in my next 2 or 3 mixes and will post those tracklists then. Newest mix of mine here is “Set On Fire” from July 8th, 2018 (sorry for the delay in posting it). This is a live a recording from my set at Monroe in San Francisco in which I followed d.Santis ( @dsantismusic ) of my Funky Teknomics team, and opened for my good friend Scottie Elliot aka Richard Mixon. Being that it was at Monroe, it was another sleepless 24 hours by the time I got off the decks.

I start off with a Deep Tech track and quickly move to Tech and Techno, and end it off with House to set up Richard Mixon properly. I hope you enjoy.

Though a relatively new DJ (since 2011), David Paul has had his heart deeply rooted in House & Techno music for much longer than that.
