After 'Sentimental' his latest release on Nomada Records the exploration of harmonic dubs and the influence of disco has always been present on Nico's work. He comes now with a release in which repetition comes present in every song in which the song developed throughout without being obvious. Congas, shakers and a common vibrating rhodes fills up the EP named 'Dub Shaker'.

Steam its first track introduces the mood that will be present on the whole EP, making it a soft club song with an on going baseline, finishing with sweet vocals and pulsating horns. Follow up by “Can’t do my thing” a dub track with an on going guitar riff which develops frenzy in the club. And last but not least of the original tracks comes “Reflect' a definitely club track which translates in a fluctuating bass companied by sweet soul vocals and a romanticised rhodes piano. The EP includes an stunning remix by one of Nico's favourites Dicky Trisco, who never disappoints when it comes to baselines & disco. Enjoy Nico Saav's Steam EP.

Él viene ahora con un lanzamiento en el cual la repetición viene presente en cada canción en la cual se desarrolla a través sin ser obvia. After many happy years of playing this amazing, raw gospel number out as a personal dj "weapon" I thought it was time to share my edit with you all so I've given it a brand new makeover, road-tested it and I think you're gonna love this! 

I have many fond memories of seeing people dancing and losing it to this way back when, early 2000s at La Via Lactea. Nobody knew what this stuff was back then (gospel disco/funk?!) but nobody cared either, people just came to dance. It's gratifying when you get your own homegrown scene, lots of records from those days seems to be coming into their own now, which is great, but what was cool then was that nobody cared -  about what anyone else was doing elsewhere, just enjoying our own thing in complete freedom. Good times!

Jocelyn Brown - Somebody Else's Guy (BéTé Re-Edit)

The new Outplay release is by young and upcoming dj/producer @cleanfieldmusic, or “Jelle” as his mom calls him. Hailing from Arnhem, the Netherlands, it’s always great to see another talent pop up in the Dutch scene! He has made three super catchy tracks for us, perfect for the summer season! 

First up is the title track “Haute Cuisine”, warm bouncy bass topped with a super infectious lead melody and percussion. If there is a track more suited for the festival season it’s this one for sure! 
“Hot Wheels” races on with a deep rolling groove, fuelled by wahwah rhythm guitars, warm synth chords and arpeggios. 
“Conflict With Clayton” brings another solid groove to the table with scattered vocal samples and multiple synth layers. Scorcher! 

So imagine dancing your ass off to this EP in the sun and feeling fantastic, we sure are!
