Autumn has arrived.  In keeping with the increasing Halloween spirit, we discussed the horror milieu in film and literature.  "The Omen" and "The Exorcist" franchises were examined.  Of special interest were the Blatty and Schrader versions of the latter series.  An out-of-the-blue gem from 1975, "Mary, Mary, Bloody Mary," was brought into the light.  That and more.

You bet we talked Halloween.  First, we advised everyone to secure a pumpkin, carve it and put it out to ward off spooky spirits.  That will allow one to reside in safety and comfort in one's home while reading ghostly stories and watching scary cinema.  Then it was time to get into films: "Blacula," "Next of Kin," "The Velvet Vampire" and "Inferno" were all discussed in service of falling deeper into the Haunting Season...
