Welcome to the World is a song near and dear to my heart. Clear back in 2019, I found out I was going to be a dad, and I was so overwhelmed with so many emotions. This song is more or less a story without words to me. 

A couple questions I've had about this song:

Q: Why isn't there a lead in the first drop(s)?
A: I played around with so many leads in this song, and nothing sounded good, so I opted to write it in the style of hymnal chorus, with the goal of the bass and soprano ends of the chords more or less functioning as counter melodies to each other. I'm pretty happy with the result, and if you don't like it, well, that's ok. It's just how I feel best represents the emotions I felt with this song.

Q: Why didn't you try to add vocals?
A: Because 1) I've tried and failed, and the words just do not come close to capturing the emotions of what I've felt. I might release an edit in the future with vocals, but I'd rather the original be exactly as I have come to love this song; and 2) my vocal range is absolute trash and I have no skills in singing, nor the money to hire someone else to sing for me haha.

To this day, my favorite comment I have ever scene about the early versions of this song was "who hurt you?" haha

This one is an interesting one. I alluded to a lot of crap happening in my life when I posted The Little Things. Whilst The Little Things was me moving on from it, 'Mirror, Mirror' is the closest embodiment of all that I felt. Pain, anger, sorrow... everything I felt is in this song. 

I'm choosing to distribute the song independently, but future releases will not be made public as quickly as I'm making this one public so that I may properly approach labels to see if they have interest in my future works.

@woods_alive and myself are proud to present our most recent collaboration, Start Again, as our combined entry to Best of LMMS 7.

Start Again came to be from me asking Woods if he had any dead projects I could dabble with. You know, the whole two heads are better than one yada yada. Well, I'm inclined to think that old adage is still true today, given this track was the result. It's been a couple years of back and forth in the making, but here it is. This song was originally intended to be a 42-second interlude titled "Waiting 'til the End". Eventually it turned into what it is now, as I explored new ideas and a more intimate style than most of the other stuff I've been working on. As  joke, I decided that "Waiting 'til the End" was the teaser for the final title, "The End."
