Ouroboros 1937 — Soundtrack

Ouroboros 1937 is a Georgian TV mini-series set against the backdrop of political purges and societal turmoil. The series explores themes of cyclical history, repression, and the personal cost of ideological conflict, reflecting on the recurring patterns of human suffering and resilience. The title references the Ouroboros symbol—a serpent devouring its own tail—as a metaphor for self-destruction and renewal.

I composed several motifs and one song, as well as the opening and closing themes for the series. The concept behind the music and amplified soundscape was to bridge the past and present, mirroring the show’s central mystery. The story follows a group of young people who rent an old apartment, only to find that history begins to communicate with them through its aged furnishings—the floor, mirror, wardrobe, and other remnants of the past.

To evoke this connection across time, I combined sharp electronic sounds with piano, solo violin, and strings, layering them with recordings of an old clock, the creaking floor, and other ambient noises.
