International singing superstar Sarah Brightman is the world’s biggest-selling soprano. She pioneered the classical crossover movement and is famed for her vocal range of over three octaves. Sarah is the only artist to have simultaneously topped the Billboard dance and classical charts. WBUR is Boston’s NPR news station and the home of nationally syndicated programs, including On Point, Here & Now, Only A Game and Car Talk, which reach millions of listeners each week on NPR stations across the United States and online. SelMate is the ongoing long time collaboration between Selwyn Schneider, multi instrumentalist, singer  and composer and Tibor January, drummer. Progressive guitar based instrumental (mostly) rock.

Tibor lives in the UK, Selwyn is in South Africa. They have not actually seen each other for about 20 years, except on Skype of course but they have made this album by using the internet.

Selwyn composes and records in his home studio and creates a "rough mix" of the music, including a drum track programmed by him. He emails an mp3 of the "rough mix" to Tibor to deal with the drumming side of things. Once the drum "department" is ready and agreed on by both of them, a MIDI file of the drum parts follows from Tibor, again - emailed to South Africa for mixing. Selwyn has a sample of every drum on Tibor's kit in his studio. After a number of discussions and tweaks, a final version of the mix of the whole track is agreed upon and then it gets posted on the internet.
