Time has come for Futurepast to release a long format album : Alarm Phase Red will be the first full-length work from Futurepast founder Davy Vandegaer, appearing here under a new name: Brainwashed Today. Rooted in a conceptual approach of electronic music, this double LP ranges from industrial ambient to experimental techno.

Like an antidote to a twisted reality of controlled screens and mental isolation, Alarm Phase Red uses the raw language of electricity to reach the core of the machine and sabotage it, reverse its effects by mirroring them. Fighting fire with fire, deflecting the pressure and strain of a world driven by fear and anger, the music of Brainwashed Today acts like a cathartic escape from technological enslavement.

With the purchase of the vinyl comes a batch of three digital bonus tracks pursuing further the sound research of the album.

From Matterwave Records, we want to report our rejection of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but also of all the wars that are happening in the world right now. 
When the invasion started we tried to find a way to help these people with our project, we thought maybe making a multi-artist compilation was a good way to help as much as possible. 
We want to thank the artists and engineers who have collaborated in this task with their music and contributions, as well as the number of labels / artists who are supporting on their own.

Human beings forget certain things when time passes or when the TV, Radio, Newspaper tells us things that really matter to them, after a month of this senseless war, please, keep donating.

Using music as a way to reconnect with oneself and nature, Davy consistently pushes his own boundaries in the hopes of inspiring himself and those around him. 

Constantly peering into the edge of the new and the unfamiliar, Davy’s expansion as an artist originally came from a place of true curiosity. A diverse foundation of influences and formative experiences - from learning the guitar and drums, to turntables and music theory - drive the widely open approach to his musical explorations. 

Rich soundworlds collide, from austere hypnotic beats to simmering distortions and visceral soundscapes. Pushing away delineations of genre, driving rhythms glide into cosmic transmissions with brooding grandeur. Moving laterally across techno, ambient, noise and electronic spaces between, Davy builds a deep and exhilarating story.

It’s with great pleasure that we share with you a recording from Materia's past event, with our good friend, DJ and Futurepast label owner: Davy.

Davy pushes the limits as far as he can go, yet as a true DJ, he always finds the right balance for the dance. His ability to engage with crowds at various venues, from super clubs to intimate spaces, shows his experience and versatility as a DJ.
Making the move to Berlin in 2017 marked the beginning of a whole new phase for Davy. His search became farther and wider, exploring the experimental and hypnotic sounds of techno. Spending more time in the studio he continues to evolve his sound even further whilst curating his Futurepast label with established and new talent.
