The music on this project is meant to awaken that awareness, to remind us of our higher selves and the sacred power we carry inside.

Through deep rhythms and textures, I want listeners to feel that connection to their own divinity that we are more than just people, we are gods experiencing ourselves through music.

A cidade acorda. As luzes foram acesas e as pessoas inundaram as ruas num caos ordenado de indivíduos agindo coletivamente. Há informações fluindo nas notícias sobre políticos usando problemas reais para posicionamentos de poder e sobre problemas distantes que não estão próximos o suficiente para merecer mais do que um "deve ser horrível o que lá se passa". Mas há também música, cinema, aquele encontro amoroso no museu  no fim de semana ou a festa com amigos que já está há muito para acontecer  e cuja antecipação torna difícil pensar noutra coisa. Outro dia se passou e há uma sensação de conforto no ar que advém da consistência da repetição deste fenómeno.

A cidade acorda. Não há inundação de pessoas. A sensação de conforto foi morta pela ausência de espaço, e até mesmo as liberdades mais básicas, como respirar, estão agora restritas ao confinamento de uma máscara. Proteção. Todos os espaços que antes faziam parte do que parecia ser uma rotina inquebrável agora estão cercados por um tipo muito específico de hostilidade. Não há mais música, os cinemas estão fechados e o encontro no museu foi cancelado. Nos “media”, o medo sempre foi usado como gravidade, puxando opiniões para direções interesseiras, mas agora assumiu o palco da frente, substituindo a cultura como a principal fonte de entretenimento, cuspindo contradições, girando em torno de informações e aproveitando a confusão nesta dança do medo, que dançamos juntos, isolados nas nossas próprias casas, vivendo as nossas vidas atrás de ecrãs e paredes de cimento.

The city is up. The lights have been turned on and the people flooded the streets in an orderly chaos of individuals acting collectively. There's information flowing on the news  about politicians using real issues for power positioning and of distant issues that are not close enough to deserve more than a "it must be awful out there".  But there is also music, cinema, that museum love date on the weekend or that party with friends that has been long overdue and makes it quite hard to think about anything else. Another day has gone by and there is a sense of comfort in the air that come from the consistency of the repetition of this phenomenon.

The city is up. There is no flood. The sense of comfort has been killed by the absence of space, and even the most basic freedoms such as breathing are now constrained to the confinement of a mask. Protection.  All the spaces that were once part of what seemed an unbreakable routine, are now surrounded by  a very specific kind of hostility. There is no more music, cinemas are closed and the museum date has been canceled. In the media, fear has always been used as gravity pulling opinions towards interested directions, but now, it has taken the front stage, replacing culture as the main source of entertainment, spitting out contradiction, spinning around information and leveraging on confusion, on this fear dance we are dancing with each other,  isolated in our own homes, living our lives behind screens and concrete walls.

Venezuelan by birth, considered to be one of the pioneers of dance movement in Venezuela since 1996, Rey Morales has shared the stage with artists such as Lee Burridge, Gean Farris, Circulation, Felix The Housecat, among others, and was the special guest for Venezuela at Ministry Of Sound Caracas with DJ Lottie. His sessions have taken him to Bogotá, Cartagena, Lima, Sao Paulo, London, Barcelona and Madrid. In 2013 he excelled as official DJ for Ray-Ban in Venezuela. Based in Madrid since 2014, he has played at Sala Sol, Goya Social Club, Ballesta, Studio 76, Taboo, After Brunch and Friday’s resident DJ at Phoenix Bar and Switch: Phoenix The Club at Cafe Berlin once a month. In 2020, he launched 110 M.e.a.L. (Música electronica de absorción lenta): A Slow Dark Disco party in Madrid that can’t go up to 110 BPM.

A night drive in a city full of lights, a slow, hypnotic and powerful beat coming from a smoky club. This is the sound of Amarcord, a young musician, DJ and Live Performer also active in the experimental circuit. His music shows a profound love for both the Krautrock and New Wave sounds of the 70’s, re-imagined from the eye of the modern waves of electronic and dance music. 
Amarcord’s productions have been appreciated and supported by some of the most influential taste-makers in the underground club scene, from legends like Andrew Weatherall and Laurent Garnier to to the new generation acts and he had the opportunity to play in some of the most important venues across Europe and beyond.
After some well received releases on influential labels as Ombra International (in which he features regularly), Correspondant, ROAM and AEON, Amarcord is currently working on his first Album while a new EP on Me Me Me Records will see the light of day before the end of the year. Animated by an unstoppable need for music making and passion this young artist is just at the beginning of his exploration into a personal and ever stimulating sonic world.
