Né en 1973 à Dakar, PAPE CHEIKH DIOUF est issu d’une famille Guewel (griot) originaire du delta de Siné-Saloum dans le sud-ouest du Sénégal.

La superstar sénégalaise Pape Cheikh Diouf et New African Production ont marqué l’histoire avec sa tournée de juillet-août 2016 en Amérique du Nord, faisant ses débuts à Chicago, Philadelphie, Atlanta, Montréal et ailleurs, et il a remporté des prix pour sa musique et son activisme. Présenté par New African Production, Pape Diouf et son orchestre La Génération Conciénte ont lancé leur tournée nord-américaine en juillet avec un jeu complet de musique m’balax classique dans la salle de bal Alhambra de Harlem.
Guichets fermés à la légendaire Old Town School of Music de Chicago, The Cedar Cultural Center à Minneapolis, le Monument national à Montréal ainsi que des sites à Atlanta, Rhode Island et Cincinnati et des festivals d’été comme la Fête de Marquette à Madison, WI, la Music Haven Concert Series à Schenectady, NY et le festival ACANA de Philadelphie.
À Philadelphie, Pape Diouf a été honoré par le Commonwealth de la Pennsylvanie avec deux prix, remis par le sénateur d’État Anthony H. Williams - l’un pour honorer la contribution de Diouf au patrimoine musical de l’Afrique et l’autre un « artiste de l’année »prix en reconnaissance du soutien de Diouf aux personnes handicapées au Sénégal et de sa nomination par le ministre de la Santé pour diriger la campagne de sensibilisation à l’Ebola et plus encore.
Avec la demande de le voir si haut parmi la communauté sénégalaise, New African Production  a été obligé d’ajouter une deuxième date en août, en retournant à la salle de bal Alhambra avec une autre affaire toute la nuit en l’honneur du jour du Sénégal. Pape Cheikh Diouf est devenu l’une des voix les plus importantes de la musique sénégalaise contemporaine. Plus qu’un faiseur de succès prolifique, il s’inspire des traditions guewel (griot) de sa famille pour chanter sur l’amour, les leçons de vie et l’idéal Wolof de « Teranga » – le respect mutuel, l’accueil et l’hospitalité qui est au cœur de la vie sénégalaise.
Vétéran du groupe Lemzo Diamono, Pape Diouf fait ses débuts en solo en 1998 et, avec l’aide de son groupe, la Génération Conciénte, revitalise le son classique m’balax de Dakar. Ses chansons émouvantes, sa voix captivante et sa présence charismatique sur scène lui ont valu une série de succès, dont « Bèguè » de 2011, ce qui en a fait une véritable superstar en Afrique de l’Ouest – et lui a permis de faire plus que quelques comparaisons avec le grand Youssou N’Dour (Diouf a souvent fait la manchette du légendaire Club Thiossane de N’Dour à Dakar).
Son album le plus récent, Rakkaaju (Prince Arts), a été publié au Sénégal en 2014, créant la place de Diouf au premier rang de la royauté musicale de Dakar.Depuis lors, il a tourné et joué sans arrêt, remplissant des stades à la maison et des lieux de musique légendaires à Paris et au-delà.

Trobul Smallz (born Ebrahim Suso (09/08/1986 in The Gambia), into the legendary line of Suso ‘Jalos’ (traditional griots), Trobul Smalls aka Prince Talib (his alter ego) is the grandson of the late Alieu Suso, a prominent Kora maker and player in the Gambia and the sub-region in his days. A game changing artist and a hood and street HipHop royalty, Prince Talib aka Trobul Smallz also referred to as just T-Smallz, grew up and is from a distinguished musical family background in the coastal town of Bakau, a situation which doubtlessly helped to hone his talent and skills as an instrumentalist, singer and rapper. Smallz recalled, “at a very tender age when I use to wake up every morning, all I found littered around my compound were local instruments of different kind (Kora, Jembeh, Balafon) which I learnt how to play under the watchful eyes of my family and especially my grandpa”. Though an avid soccer player and was even once drafted into the Gambia U-15 national team, Smallz ventured into the music business head on by starting to record professionally. His first song ‘Rise n Shine’ was recorded and produced at Adent Studios in Bakoteh ( now made popular by T. Smallz and his rap peers as BK City) where he now lives with his parents and siblings. One song followed another and boom…the super hit title ‘Gis Nga Yow’ featuring singing sensation Marion and the third of the unofficial BK City Crew, Tam50 dominated the airwaves and night joints around the country. ‘Gis Nga Yow’ has been such a success that the name of the song is synonymous to T-Smallz and fans both young and old shout out ‘Gis Nga Yow’ whenever Smallz is in sight. Following the success of ‘Gis Nga Yow’ and several other cuts like ‘Ring On Ya Finger’ featuring Rugie, ‘God’s Will’ featuring Pa Omar Jack and ‘Wahang Baneh’, Smallz put together and released a mixtape which was a great success especially among school going population and particularly in the hoods and streets, hence his status and reputation as the true prince of HipHop in The Gambia. Smallz also featured on several ‘Riddims’ and performed duets with a host of other artists, most notably on the very successful ‘Hypnotize’ by Sing-A-Teh aka Freaky Joe from his much acclaimed ‘Rejoice’ album. Approaching his mid 20s now, Trobul Smallz still caters for his loyal youthful following but is also venturing into producing songs to entice fans of different generations and his recently released single ‘Dallu’ is already a hit among all music lovers.
