Morten Mortez got the big interest for House music after hearing Rhythim is Rhythim - Strings of Life by Derrick May.
Oslo´s house and rave scene had just started out, but grew fast in early 90-ies, and Morten Mortez became a regular.
At the time Oslo had many old closed down factory areas that became location for illegal party`s every weekend.
A couple of years later he got his first two Technics 1210 turntables, started mixing vinyl and got some small gigs, under the name Dj Morty.
In 1998 Morten Mortez became friends with Johan Inkfish member of the Swedish progressive house duo and record label named Inkfish, that at the time had released several tracks.
Soon they became a group of friends that mostly all where Oslo Dj´s, Producers or in some kind of eay in the music industry/local House and Rave scene.
Trough contacts Johan Inkfish had in UK, they arranged Norwegian versions of House Party concepts from UK, but also started their own club concepts.
In 2004 it had been some good and experience ritch years, and the group of friends started doing different things in and outside Oslo´s house scene.
Morten Mortez had "kind" of a break to become a fully comitted father to his beautiful daughter Julie.
But the feeling of sound waves from house music where always present, and the turntables was in use every week.
Late 2013 his daughter Julie started school and Morten Mortez started mixing every day again.
First "vinyl only", but by 2014 updating to digital mixing equipment was a priority.
A new mac, digital equipment for Dj´ing and to make electronic Music was in place.
The spring 2014 and trough the summer and autumn electronic music once again occupied most of Morten Mortez time, as he to discovered the new and different creative challenges that came with the all digital equipment setup.
With rediscovering his love for elecrtonic music and all it´s diverse genres and creative possebilities using digital equipent, is part of this interest that gives Morten Mortez this drive to be 100% fully ocupied with getting back into the game.
Spesially all the new creative challenges Stems are bringing along makes the art of Dj-ing into something that only got imagenation as boundry for the creativity. And put toghether with talent and expirience it´s exiting to follow Morten Mortez on his jurney back into the magical world of electronic music, and it´s deep house and tech house that now seemes to be the genres that he mostly play these dsays, as the end of summer 2016 is near by.
