“Maleven” also known as Robin Hood “The Kasi Superhero” is a single by Eezion Sounds (Zanoxolo Tshangela) taken from his upcoming project. The instrumental of the song was produced by Mapholoba (Thabo Ngcobo) in late 2022. 

The idea of the song is derived from a popular traditional hymn sung by amaXhosa when coming back from “entabeni” also known as initiation school during the circumcision season. The lyrics of the song describe “Maleven” as a character who is relating a story about the lifestyle and experience in the hood he grew up in. 

The song features Skinny (Thabo Mhlalaluzwa) who backs the music with beautiful melodies and is also the sound engineer of the song. Its vibe is influenced by different genres such as Kwaito, Afro-Pop, and Afro Beats creating a unique fresh sound that is a true definition of Eezion Sounds. Maleven is released on the 25th of August 2023, on Friday under his long-time label Daydreamers Empire.
