ALL VINYL some of my favourite soulful funky beats.  Most of the tunes my friend Rolf used to play at Beat Soup, and then Dudar and I used to play on Friday nights at "Beats & Rice" hahaha what wonderful memories.
This was a mix I made for Sean after I moved back to Toronto, we were both just single at the same time, and every day I was asking him to be with me... I made this at his condo one day waiting for him to come home for dinner I made him.  
Haha, we were already domesticated long before being married, yes... but all these songs kinda were a little pleading for him to love me back!   It worked!  LOL
The photo was from our first year playing together at his nightclub, Avalon in Nelson BC in 1999... Hijole :)

I started writing a long story about how this was an older mix, but realized later when I heard the Lexicon Ave track, I remember standing there and realized I recorded it in Toronto at Sean's beautiful loft, before we were even together... and before the Funky Dazey CD. 
Good lord, the Dazey name is surely befitting... What a stoner.  lol
As I remember and forget more things, I'll try to update my little stories...

It's all sorts of deliciousness and there are really no words needed.
You can hear some digital glitches in the recording, but it is what it is...

Intuit - Forevra and a Dazey - 2010 at Caroline Street

This is one of my favourite mixes I've ever made, and I'll tell you why... I was dusting and updating software on the controller from Mezzanine at home alone one day, just decided to test out my new USB for a moment before going to play the next day, and ended up with this couple of dreamy downbeat groovy session at home, an all over the place mix of some of my most delicious dazeywave tunes.  All while I was washing dishes and feeding the dogs, and chillin at the casa... 
Damn girl, I'm a pretty good selectress of music I will admit... 
I love that I have never programmed a set or mix in my entire career DJing.  NEVER, not even when I made CDs, I actually used to change the order of records all the time from what I started thinking I would put together.  Mixing music should be organic, depending on the audience you have, and reading a room.  But I digress...
As you may know, I've only started to play with a USB for the first time ever two months ago… I can't give enough thanks to my amazing friends, who invite me to play with them, inspire me to keep playing and dancing with them, take care of us in so many ways other than musically, and truly bring me joy each damn day.  Karlita, Juan Carlos, Juan Pablo - thank you guys from the bottom of my dazey heart.  Firstly, I love your music, you are such amazing humans, and I respect the hell out of you.  I see little bits of my younger self in each of you, and I swear to god you are helping us stay younger than ever.  
What a wild ride it's been, babes.

Glisten Carefully ✨Oct 2023 at Casa Lulu

As you may or may not know, for the past almost 4 years, Sean and I have been the Music Curators at all our favourite Colibri Boutique Hotels in Tulum, Mezzanine, Mi Amor, El Pez, La Zebra, and now Lula.  
Mezzanine was the first of their hotels we walked into 16 years ago, and fell completely in love with the view, the vibe, the staff, the music, the food and cocktails, and we still consider it our favourite place on earth to this day.
This is the first of many many Mezz mixes to come once we stitch them together and upload!  We have some mixes up to 8 hours from our annual New Years Day balearic marathon...
So excited to share them all with you!!

Gledd & Dazey - Niente che l'anima 🎶

The last beach session Sean and I recorded two weeks ago... at our other home, Hotel Panamera.  
We are so lucky and thankful to our friends who invite us to just play whenever, now.  No grand notice, no planning, just plug in your USB and go... pure raw music selection and creation.  
We LOVE to play on the beach.

This is Sean's really first time officially with his own USB playing out, and as always, he's just like butter... 
I wanted to surprise Sean and end the day with Sophie, my favourite song from an incredible band we both love, Small Black...

Dazey & Intuit Panamera Beach - Dec 7,2023

Another beautiful Sunset roof Session ... sorry I'm going backwards with my WompsyDazey mixes, but this is my friend Womps (aka Juan Pablo - Off Silence) and we have been playing together for a few few years now making beautiful soundscapes around Tulum, but mostly one roof... 
I'm going to post more soon I swear... 
I'm sooo new at this shit!  
This one is important to me though, so... a little background...
The day Prince passed away Sean and I had to DJ an event, it was both way too emotional and also one of the best sets we've ever played.  
This day was the day I learned my beloved Amp Fiddler passed away... I cried for about 8 straight hours that day, and that evening I channeled all my love into this soulful sunset set for him.
I played the first hour, Womps the second and back 2 back for the last hour.  We had a nice little deep melodic moment in there when the sun totally went down… when the Afterglow track comes on, shivers… Mmmmm
I had already been planning to play some special soulful tracks by my friend Gledd and Tigerbalm that I loved, and then once Amp's music and divine soul got peppered in there, it turned into quite a musical joy of an evening with the most beautiful sunset, befitting my beloved Amp!  
This music legend’s passing really left a mark on my heart so deep, but also made me realize I am so so blessed to have known Amp and experienced the JOY that is his voice and his music and his beautiful soul...

Dazey & Off Silence - Amp's Sunset - Dec 18,2023

Recorded last Friday, on my favourite rooftop in Tulum ☀️
Sunsets are the most delicious time to play for me, the change of light and mood and vibe... super magical music always comes through me, this one was particularly special for me.

I picked 20 hours of my fave music, put it in a playlist and this wild shit burst through, sure it's no perfect blending but damn, such great music, covering genres and decades and so much of my life's new and old songs.  
I went right into a trance for the whole 3 hours so listening back I'm still waiting for what song is coming next... hahaha I love music!
Dedicated to my Love, Sean Alejandro.  
My soulmate and greatest musical inspiration for the past 25 years. The first edit, the song Closer by Goapele was the song we played when I walked down the cliff in Mexico to marry him almost 17 years ago.

DAZEY's DEEP SUNSET DIVE

One week ago the world lost a beautiful soul, my favourite singer, and a dear sweet friend, Danielle Moore.
The day after she left a week long visit to Tulum, we were inspired by her mark on us - we played the next gig and I gathered all my Crazy P and Penis adjacent music.  My disco brother, Off Silence and I played this entire set dedicated to Crazy P and all music we love related to Danielle, Jim, Ron Basejam, Hot Toddy, and even dropped a song she sang on with Steve Cobby.   
Danielle was an incredible human, she won us all over in minutes just by her charming presence, her energy, her love of music and her utter kindness to every one she met... What a beautiful sister friend taken far too soon, we only just began our fun friendship. 
We miss you everyday, beautiful Amiga.
I sent this raw mix to her right after, and for months I've meant to re-record it to clean it up a little bit, and never did.  
She loved it just as it was, and I do as well... Unedited, here it is... 
I hope you do enjoy listening to it as much as I have loved Crazy P for nearly 3 decades Mx
