\\\ Lupita Screams ist eine Independent Band, die sich Anfang der 90er in Karlsruhe gründete und bis zu ihrer Auflösung 1995 in unveränderter Besetzung spielte. /// Der Name bezieht sich auf einen gleichnamigen Song der Band 'Gun Club'. Wie einige andere Bands aus der damaligen Independent Szene experimentierte auch Lupita Screams im Fahrwasser gitarrenlastigen Indie-Rocks mit stilistischen Mischformen aus unterschiedlichen Genres wie Punk, Heavy, Wave oder Jazz. Dieser Stilmix wurde wiederum von einer charakteristischen Frauenstimme zusammengehalten. /// Die energiegeladene Debut-CD 'Teenage Tears' wurde 1993 im Eigenverlag herausgebracht. /// In der zweiten Schaffensphase wartete die Band mit transparenteren, von Pop-Elementen durchzogenen Songs auf, die mit teilweise eklektischen Stilmischungen und abrupten Themenwechseln arbeiteten. /// Diese Stücke wurden von Joachim Ebel im Oktober 1994 im Keller der 'Steffi', dem damals einzigen besetzten Haus in Karlsruhe, aufgenommen. /// Während in der Zwischenzeit der Grunge-Hype Europa gänzlich erfasst hatte und Independent eigentlich bereits Geschichte war, beschlossen die Musiker 1995 ihrer eigenen Wege zu gehen und lösten die Band auf.

\\\ Lupita Screams is an Independent Band, formed in the early 90s in Karlsruhe, Germany and played in the same setting until its termination in 1995. /// The band's name is referring to a Gun Club song. Like several other bands in the independent scene of these years, Lupita Screams experimented in the fairway of guitar based Indie-Rock with stylistic mixes of different genres like Punk, Heavy, Wave or Jazz. This mix of styles was held together by a characteristic female voice. /// The powerful debut-CD "Teenage Tears" was released by selfpublishing in 1993. /// In a second creative period, the band worked with more transparent songs that were interspersed with pop elements and an eclectic blend of style, partly experimenting with a sudden change of themes. /// These songs were recorded live by Joachim Ebel in October 1994 in the basement of "Steffi", at that time the only occupied building in Karlsruhe. /// While the Grunge hype had completely overrun Europe and Independent meanwhile had become history, the musicians of Lupita Screams decided to go their own ways and terminated the project.
