Join JOIX for a free listening party to celebrate "Der Krieg soll enden" (eng: "The war should stop") EP. Come along to listen to the music with the artist and chat about the making of the EP.
It was very early in the morning when JOIX awaked from a dream where the following german words came to his mind together with some unwritten song structures: "Der Krieg soll enden und das möglichst bald. Für den Frieden und dessen Erhalt." (eng: "The war should end as soon as possible. For peace and its preservation.").
It seemed very important at this moment, so he immediately stood up and noticed these two sentences on a piece of paper in his studio. After going to bed again and waking up later, reading these words once more with a rational mind he was not so convinced of its meaning any more and doubts came up if it would be really a good idea to use this for the next music production. At daylight and with sober mind it seems a bit childish and naive.
But finally the power of the dream was stronger and so you can listen here to the result as first track of this EP "Der Krieg soll enden".
Second track "Born after sunset" is a floating Deep Techno track with hypnotic basses and layered melodic chords which culminate in an emotional break and a deep melodic second part of this track.
Third, "Spinnrad am Brunnenrand" (eng: "Spinning wheel at well edge") is an innuendo to the fairy tale "Frau Holle" and comes up with an enraptured atmosphere which lets you fall down to another world at the wells ground.
4th, the Remix of "Spinnrad am Brunnenrand" by new upcoming Deep Techno Producer Felix Kowalski from Heidelberg rounds off this EP with a nice interpretation of the Original.

Cie & Mar io's latest work, "Mindmodulator", plays with the senses and opens doors to new, unexplored dimensions of the mind. The original mix starts furiously right away and brings the synapses to a boil with its intense and hypnotic break, only to burn itself explosively into the head. In the fiery remix of Zweig, the pads dance on groovy 303 basslines and enchant the deep parts of the brain. The suspenseful "Hot Mix", on the other hand, flows deeper and deeper into unimagined areas, heats the temperature inexorably, so that you can no longer escape its powerful pull and the modulations illuminate even the most hidden convolutions of the brain. This high energy level is also reached in a very short time by the "live version", which was recorded uncut as part of a performance on the radio station sonus fm, and immediately makes the neurons dance on all levels. In short, four electrifying variants of "Mindmodulator" that can change reality!

There’s a moment at the very beginning of Frolojaz where the track seems unsure whether to reveal itself or remain in reflection. The rhythm stutters gently, as if sound were testing its own balance – not yet settled into groove, but circling it with curiosity.
Organic percussion – tactile, earthy, full of breath and hand – opens the space with a kind of living pulse. A soft yet weighted kick joins, not in insistence but in calm invitation. It doesn’t impose. It suggests.
Then come the strings – quartal, echo-drenched, gently disintegrating across vast imagined halls. They hover, not so much leading the track as dissolving into it. There is no urgency here. Just atmosphere, tone, and time – stretched.
Gradually, without fanfare, the structure coalesces. The four-on-the-floor returns, unobtrusive and patient. A vocal sample loops into earshot – filtered, cycling, shimmering. There’s a sense of French house here, but blurred at the edges. Less homage, more daydream. Labels like Kompakt, All Day I Dream, Sol Selectas or Do Not Sit On The Furniture might come to mind – aesthetics that favor tone over tempo, and repetition as revelation.
Then the tension shifts. A bassline sneaks in – playful, thick, warm. The groove fattens. Just before the break, the drums recede, as if stepping aside. The vocal remains, now fully exposed, soft-spoken yet commanding. A snare build begins – understated, but full of intention.
And when it returns, the track opens wide.
The second movement feels sunlit. Chords rise – smooth, cool, summery. The bass grows bolder, but never brash. This is house music, clearly – but refracted through warmth, ease, and texture. It's not about climax. It's about continuation. A horizon stretched out in rhythm.
Frolojaz doesn’t chase energy – it reveals it slowly. There’s a subtle lineage here, to labels like Lump Records, or Innervisions – imprints that understand dance music as architecture, as emotion in form. But Frolojaz keeps its own posture: steady, self-contained, and quietly generous.
It doesn’t demand to be heard. It waits – and for those who do, it rewards in depth, not volume.
