The band's name was taken from the title of a film concept by L.M. Kit Carson, about a rock n roll suicide and written to star Andy Warhol's muse Edie Sedgwick.

While living above a bar and venue in Chester, the band started out life making lo-fi demos with only a guitar and drum machine. The venue’s owner, Martin Ellis, became their mentor and guru culminating in many late nights drinking and 
listening to Patti Smith which cemented The August September.

We are a 6-piece dual female fronted punk/rock band based around the Northwest, UK. Combining harmonizing vocals with some frantic guitar, pop hooks and heavy drums creating a massive sound. Having recently recorded and self-released our first EP, Grab A Napkin It's Gonna Get Messy, we're looking forward to playing these songs to a huge number of people!
