After making his debut on Correspondant last year with the incredible ‘Manthony’, Juan Maclean returns with another immersive, deep space funk trip: ‘I Want The Night’

Close friend and kindred spirit of Jennifer Cardini’s label for many years, the NYC artist once again presses all the right buttons at all the right moments. Teaming up with long-time collaborator Monika Heidemann for two of the tracks, ‘I Want The Night’ and ‘Connected’ pump soulfully and emotionally just as much as they do cosmically as Monika purrs and drawls her vocals in perfect harmony with Juan’s driven-but-forever-unhurried beats.

Elsewhere ‘Wipeout’ is a one-way ticket to peaktime while remixes from Correspondant familiar Terr and recently rebooted cult NYC act Dorothy’s Fortress both make MacLean gleam in two very different ways. The night is ours…

The tenth reference of LATIDO comes from the hand of Durand & Kadriana. Durand has a good bunch of previous releases on labels like Nein Records, Factor City, Logical Records or Esthetique to name just a few. For this new reference in LATIDO, Durand is joined by Kadriana, who is in charge of the vocal part of the tracks. 

The entire ep clearly sounds 80s. The synths, bass lines and melodies take you back to the New Wave and Synth Pop sound of the eighties. "Blood & Honey" is made up of three original tracks steeped in dark desires, mysterious daydreams and vampires conspiring on a retro-futuristic dance floor. 

Alongside the three original tracks are two fabulous remixes by bosses Fabrizio Mammarella and Undo. Both artists have been able to perfectly read the meaning of the EP, and their remixes fit perfectly with the overall sound of this release. 

With "Blood & Honey" you will sing, dance, and feel like the protagonist of a science fiction movie starring John Carpenter and Tangerine Dream.

Compiled by Nick Hanzo and mastered by Oltrefuturo, the EP features two originals by Mexican artist Veltrán and remixes by A-Tweed and Nick Hanzo himself. We're premiering the ace A-Tweed rework.

Mufti - Before Long

We are happy to announce the debut EP Portuguese-Italian Vhyce.
After his track „Back To Where I Never Was“ on a well received Lost Tapes Vol. 4, he is no stranger to the AEON camp anymore. Known from his releases on Catz N’ Dogz „Pets Recordings“, the young producer delivers a stunning 4 track EP with the title „These Words“.
Vhyce has a very characteristic sound design, which makes his simple and almost minimalistic, but catchy tunes so special; Though always trying to add something new to his repertoire. Like on the title track „These Words“ it was one of the first few attempts for him to sing some vocals on his own instrumentals. „While not being good at singing, I think it really set you free to be able to express your ideas yourself without relying on someone else understanding of your vision,“ he claims.
The track is built around an arpeggiated bass line oscillating between two sequences thats progressively build tension without being too obvious. The lyrics „These words have no meaning“ fell mysterious and open to interpretation. 
 
On the remix duty there’s no one less but „Chicken Lips“ legend Andrew, better known as The Emperor Machine. He stripped back the original to a more funky & grooving rework.  “The plan was to create something that keeps the same emotion as the original mix but still feels different enough without changing direction too much & I think I managed to achieve that”, Andrew says. And yes, what a musical masterpiece he delivered!
„Strive for Ego“ is an attempt to fuse „Can“ & „Neu!“ Krautrock influences into a club track“, says Vicente. Constantly driving forward, with perfect temper and timing to rise tension and built up energy Track title refers to the lyrics... „I’m nobody“.
„Old You“ has a more traditional Italo Disco feel. The „happy“ sounding bass line is counterbalanced with rough and psychedelic analog leads, reminding of traveling through time and space in a 80‘s Sci-Fi movie. The vocoded lyrics shall „refer to an hate-love relationship with your old you....Maybe because it „holds you“, Vhyce describes.
