Enregistrés au milieu de la nuit, au casque sur un simple ordinateur, ils poursuivent l'attirance de D°C pour les lieux atypiques et désolés.
Un remix de Sir Squi vient compléter l'EP, relecture intelligente du morceau "Nix".

For Clint's debut solo EP, there was no better way to make his mark than to bring on one of his closest friends and all around musical visionaries, Tone Of Arc. Warpaint is a cry from the depths of the human spirit to the world outside. A dark and sensual musical journey teeming with emotional howls washed over a relentless beat and sub bass with deep celestial vocals that will make every hair on your body stand straight up. Look Into The Sun is a heart melter. It's the sound of summer. It's the sound of any day where the sun shines down kissing the skin of a sea of people dancing in euphoric unison to the warm piano stabs as they build into a dreamy progression while small flashes of a warm vocal wash over you. Once the breakdown comes, the words "look into the sun" come as if in a dream to introduce a mesmerizing sub bass and a splash of enchanted synths. With all the magical harmony and melody of 'Look Into The Sun', the ever rolling beat ties it all together. Whether on a beach, a boat, an open air or watching the sunrise through the crack in a window of a dark club, this will bring the warmth of the sun down on you. With the second part of the exclusives from the Watergate 17 CD mixed by Pan-Pot, we see three artists that have close ties to the duo and all reside in the Riverside Studios complex just steps from the club's front door.

First up is Martin Eyerer. A name already well known in the world of dance music, he delivers a stormer with 'Reckless'. Driving drums and a building snare roll keep the energy at a maximum while a descending bass tone creates a passionate attachment for the dance floor. It's the perfect unity of
danceability and emotion rolled into one cohesive theme.

Next up is one of the core artists of Pan-Pot's new imprint Second State, Stephan Hinz. With 'Hungry' he hosts a clinic on how to maintain the intricate balance between the realms of techno and house with big rolling drums and vintage keys. We've heard the keys countless times before, but it takes someone with a level of skill far beyond the average producer to make it feel like it's the first time all over again. A perfect composition, this is the track that can make the crowd go over the edge and save the dance floor. Or, both at the same time.

Finally, to round up the EP, we have another member of the Second State family, Clint Stewart. 'Drenched' is a track that can be utilized under the club lights or beneath the sun and stars. The lo-fi drums chug along while a lead reminiscent of the sounds of old Chicago take over and slowly a bass line that mirrors the lead becomes apparent. As the break nears, a spacey synth circles around and around to forge all the elements into a solid, unified composition.

Steyoyoke are proud to work alongside fast rising star Habischman in bringing you their next EP titled ‘The Moment’. Having already donned productions on labels such as Noir, Moda Black and VIVA Music, this single track release has definitely sparked a wave of excitement within the Steyoyoke camp. BLANCAh and head honcho Soul Button are on remix duties for this one and each imprint ‘The Moment’ with their own personal flavours.
The original is built around a solid bassline and a consistent flurry of vocals, which echo in and out throughout the entire track. A backdrop of ominous chord changes drive the track to build upon itself, leading you to a momentary suspension of sound during the breakdown, before giving way to a drop and then continuing along with the same momentum.
Soul Button’s remix takes things one level deeper, finding an extra groove for this track to channel upon. Boasting a slightly more dubbed vibe then the original and displaying darker percussive elements, this remix certainly has some grunt to it. The vocals however, do stay true to Habischman’s original.
The second remix of ‘The Moment’ is from BLANCAh and she chooses to strip back the original somewhat, giving it a distinctive minimal techno influence. As a result, the track becomes a chugging wave of rolling bass lines and layered synth riffs. BLANCAh also incorporates some extra panning effects which tease and tantalise the aural frequencies.

Steyoyoke Black presents some fresh blood for their most recent EP and it comes in the form of a producer who releases under the name of David Granha. The spotlight falls generously upon this Spanish born musician, who makes his initial mark on the Steyoyoke Black label with a three track solo EP titled ‘Aria’.

‘Aria’ can best be described as an aural contortion, where classical collides head on with melodic techno. Intertwining elements from each genre to create one defining masterpiece, it is unique and intriguing to the ear. The backbone of the track aligns with its rich melodies and driving energy, its intensity however, revolves around the opera vocals which cut through the techno flavoured sound, adding a whole new depth to 'Aria's' entirety.

The second track on the EP is ‘Opus 52’ and it’s full of hidden surprises, twists and turns. The first thing to hit you is a wall of pulsating bass, accompanied by smooth rolling drum layers and some crunchy tough percussion. A surprise then casually arises, captured perfectly by an electro style synth riff, which is both perky and lofty in its vibe.

‘Tessitura’ is the third and final track on this release and it closes the curtains on ‘Aria’ in absolute style and grace. ‘Tessitura’ embodies a modest zest and plenty of bounce. It’s laced with minuet intricacies and a lustre of quirky soundscapes, encompassing everything you want to hear and feel on the dance floor.

Impeccable sound design graces PEEV’s timeless “Medea/Inflict”. Textures have such rich crystal clarity for the production is perfection.  Sounds skitter about with huge amounts of weirdness added into the proceedings for additional disorientation. By opting for such a wide swath of genres to draw from, running the gamut from electro-acoustic, ambient, minimalism, and jungle stripped of all bombast, what remains is a skeletal version of these elements, one which remains unknowable.

Nearly beatless is the ambient sheen of “Medea” the opener. Within this sound PEEV explores an elasticity of sorts. The way the sound is stretched and distorted gives it a physical, anxious presence. No melody, rhythm only in small dollops, the song sounds akin to that of a house of mirrors, with noises reflected and refracted off each other. Quite surprising, the song adheres to no discernible genre. By maintaining such a loose, improvised approach PEEV sculpts a sonic universe who only certainty is unpredictability. Much easier in terms of overall temperament is the eerie atmosphere of “Inflict”. Continuing much of PEEV’s penchant for the flexible, the song develops and grows in a myriad number of ways. Easily the highlight of the collection a beat anchors the entirety of the piece, at times flirting with jungle-like rhythms. Spacious in scope the song sprawls out, unfurling with geometric precision. Ending things on a high note, the song’s rather elegant approach results in fantastic, almost jazz-like lushness.

PEEV’s “Medea/Inflict” refuses to be easily pigeonholed, resulting in a sound that defies categorization.
