Walking down 7th Avenue on October 28th 2023, around 6 pm. Even though it's autumn, the temperature is high. It feels like summer. It's very humid and the street is crowded.
My phone (tucked in my pocket) starts to record on its own when I reach Times Square. 

The resulting one and a half minute long recording is the material for this particular soundscape, which I think captures the eeriness and the uncanny feeling I had that day. All sounds were processed on a Roland SP-404A sampler and recorded live to a stereo track. I love insects!!! When i was 12-13 i collected all beetles i could get in Germany and Austria. I was obsessed with Beetles. I had 800-900 different species collected. It was my specialist field. When getting older i decided not to kill them anymore! A Photo would be enough now.
