Miguel Maestre Biography
Aka “Feter Prime’’

On July 10th, 1990, Miguel Antonio Maestre was born to parents, Mary and Tony Maestre. Stemming from his strong Trinidadian roots and upbringing, he fell in love with Calypso music at a young age. At the age of 4 he began playing the Cuatro, a locally known instrument originating from Venezuela made popular in Trinidad for its use in Parang Music.

As the years went by, Miguel began playing the drums. Perfecting many percussion instruments, he eventually became the lead drummer in his band. During this time, he performed different styles of music such as Jazz, classical, pop, R&B and more. The band highlights included tours to Boston, New York, Chicago, and various music festivals. Miguel studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music and competed in various competitions. To date, he still takes piano lessons to enhance his overall musical skill and technique.
After performing for years with a band, Miguel decided to try his hand at singing in 2010. In 2011, 

In August 2014, Miguel started writing music inspired by the culture of Trinidad and Carnival. The following year he released his first song entitled “High” featuring Nigel Rojas. High came out with a bang receiving an incredible response worldwide from radio hosts, Dj’s, producers, and music lovers all over.

Miguel continues to write music and work closely with his team in Toronto. He plans to become a producer and own a studio in the future leading to collaborations and performing alongside other icons of soca music.
