Akron, Ohio born Howard Hewett Jr. is a Grammy Award-winning singer–songwriter who rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the Grammy winning vocal group Shalamar. In 1985, he left the group to pursue his solo career, but in 2001 he returned to the group and continues to tour and perform all over the world.
