Ep 10 - DMH Core Value - Empathy

On this episodes of Cultivating Culture Kathleen and Hope discuss collaboration and its importance within the office. The mention the importance of creating an environment of collaboration that take into account how others think and act. Several tools are mentioned which include Myers Briggs, DISC, Clifton strengths, and social styles highlighted by the DMH Way. Social styles include analytical, driver, amiable, and expressive.  They mentioned the important of not only understanding your own style but also recognizing others style and the need to try and flex towards their styles as well. Ep 13. DMH Cares

On this epsidoes of Cultivating Culture we go over the Culture Landscape Score Card currently used by the Missouri Department of Mental Health - Division of Developmental Disabilities. This annual assessment tool is essentially a pulse check to determine the status of office culture. It covers several different domains related to office culture and scores an office based on responses provided by its employees. DMH-DD has recently completed their second round with this tool and in several location is seeing improvements in employee responses to office culture. From the score card office can then begin the process of action planning to address system gaps in office culture through implementation of specific intervention such as ways to increase employees knowledge about agency values, behaviors, etc… With this in mind the layout of this episode first describe the Culture Landscape Score Card, its domains, and benefits. Then we hear from the most recent Culture Club meeting where Nicole Jones reviews the data collected from the score card and a brief discussion with Jessica Bax over an activity that can be used to begin discussions within your office.
