D.D. Cain was born Detrochet Cain on December 13. The artist is Mississippi born and raised with a hometown of Hollandale, MS with respect given to Jackson, MS for over ten years residing. D.D. Cain gained an interest for music at an early age and begin writing songs in high school. In 2001, while residing in Jackson, MS, D.D. Cain met Shayla Sims a.k.a. ShaDuke “Da Gr8 1” originally from Magee, MS and formed a rap group called Nutz Wit No Shellz. The two turned down offers for appearances on some local indie label mixtapes and compilation albums. In 2009, D.D. Cain teamed back up with ShaDuke to proceed with their music creativity on ShaDuke’s indie brand, T.I.A. Entertainment.  The July 5, 2011 release of the T.I.A’s double album titled “T.I.A. Entertainment Presents Mind Consuming Music” and “T.I.A. Entertainment Presents Da SeQuel” highlights the unique sound and versatility of D.D. Cain as a recording artist. With the July 2012 release of the mixtape, "T.I.A. Entertainment Presents UnderRated OverAchievers," and the December 2012 release of "T.I.A. Entertainment Presents 1st Class Musik the Mixtape" you can again enjoy the sound of D.D. Cain as a solo artist and as part of revived duo, Nutz Wit No Shellz which consists of labelmate and long time friend, ShaDuke.
