On raconte que non loin de l'île magique, se trouvai un repère de sirènes. 
Elles auraient étés victimes d'une malediction jetée par les anciens dieux.
La légende dit que de nombreux marins auraient étés attirés par leurs plaintes puis, assourdis par leurs cris, se serraient jetés par dessus bord.
On peut encore les entendre se lamenter quand la lune éclaire le ciel.

I have always enjoyed being a Dad but things do change so incredibly fast.  One moment you’re getting them ready for school and in seemingly double-quick time, they’re all grown up, with all of the problems the transition into adulthood inevitably entails.  They acquire ‘significant others’, some of whom you like and some you’re pretty sure are never going to make the cut.  From a distance, you look on with increasing interest, watching them struggle with the intricacies of romantic involvement.
This song involves the machinations of my youngest son’s relationship with one particular girlfriend, who seemed to have an issue with any form of commitment.  Sometimes she’d show up out of the blue, wanting to spend every moment with him, then disappear into the ether and not contact him for days.
He and I had quite a few Father to Son conversations about her, primarily because we were both concerned about her mental wellbeing.  He’d try to contact her to check if everything was alright, often without success.  Then, without warning, she’d be back on the scene, the whole merry-go-round starting all over again.  I did my level best to help but she truly was an enigma and I was never really sure if what I had to say was helping the situation.  As with many such tricky equations in life, no obvious solution came to light and things slowly ground to a halt.  To this day, though, he says she was one of the most confusing people he ever met.
As is my habit, I decided to write a song about her, calling it ‘Take’ because it was an anagram of her name (by all means have a guess…), hoping to delineate the complexities of the things she both said and did.  Gal really loved the song and going through a marriage break-up as he was at the time, asked if he could contribute a few lines to the lyrics as a way of describing the bewilderment he was feeling, which proved an interesting window into his thinking.
Our brilliant engineer Nick thought slowing it down would give it a kind of Massive Attack feel, an approach that suited it to a tee.  But we needed something else, something magical in the mix, so Gal suggested asking our good friend Steph Laporte (‘DDJohn’ to his SC friends) to record a lead break along with some additional, extra-slurpy licks on his clarinet.  Steph is a wonderful player and as I’m sure you’ll agree, his contribution proved exactly what was needed.  It’s a real favourite of mine - so different from anything we’ve done before.  By the way, anyone worked out that anagram yet?  (Terry Reeves)

I sent him a copy of the penultimate mix and he was good enough to return a detailed list of possible adjustments, all of which were entirely spot-on and made the job of getting the final mix completed in the allotted hour very achievable, something in some doubt but for his assistance.

I thought his voice would really go well on this kind of mythical song ..reminding us of our student years :)
I must confess I was also very motivated to try the clarinet solo .... such a beautiful solo from https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akosh_Szelev%C3%A9nyi with the metal clarinet .. I think ...this is unique in French Rock'n roll ...or Rock'n roll in general ! We  hope you like our version of it !

I heard this melody from a classic piece (for piano/clarinet) long time ago ...at one of those sunny end-of-the year clarinet exams at the music school I used to go to as a teen ...it is still in my memory decades after though I never found  the scores ...would love so much to find the title of it an play it properly one day !
..anyway, always thought this melody was enabling classic clarinet to sound so beautiful, in a voluptuous and round kind of way , just like in Boticelli's paintings   ...I thought also serenity and peace of slow reggae beat would carry it so well .. and also bring a touch of modernity ...kind of a renaissance ..my humble way !!
