Danny Wabbit's sound is renowned by his fast paced grooves, hypnotic rhythms and his murky minimalistic atmosphere, whether in his performances or productions Danny encapsulates the "groove".

Marcel Fengler stands for imposing surprises and the appeal of variety. For him, techno is an unconditional passion and an essential part of his identity. Over the last two decades, he 
developed a versatile and dynamic style that has seen him become one of the genre’s most impactive and respected names on a global scale, stemming from him being one of the first resident DJs of Berlin’s infamous Berghain/Panorama Bar in 2005. Marcel’s IMF(Index Marcel Fengler) label has been a platform to home both his original music and new emerging talent since 2011, just recently celebrating its 10-year anniversary. 

Stepping into the summer of 2023, Marcel now looks to the birth of a new and unique compilation project that will be taking a more independent direction from the labels other output, with a 
completely different design and artistic focus, he says “this project will give me the opportunity to release fantastic techno tracks from super talented and emerging producers who caught my attention.” With the schedule for the central IMF platform locked in until late 2024, HARDPROOF offers artists another regular and reputable avenue to release their music, backed by one of techno’s most notable underground names. 

“The HARDPROOF V/A series is a benchmark of quality techno tracks while putting the focus almost exclusively on tracks by younger producers who truly inspire me. Perhaps some of them having a shorter career in the music industry but still produce damn good tracks. I really love their music and I am glad to have every single one of them on board.” Says Marcel

The first ‘HARDPROOF’ compilation serves as a strong signal of intent with some incredible productions straight off the bat. It delivers an explicitly avant-garde agenda, boasting racy groovers, dark and moody dancefloor heaters, and analogue-heavy jams across its five-track listing. Fresh tunes from Danny Wabbit, Grace Dahl, vrov, STEYA and Sigvard all make the first volume of what promises to be a frequent high-quality underground techno experience. 

The first volume of ‘HARDPROOF’ is available from 30th June 2023 on Marcel Fengler’s IMF.

Introducing our new free download series CUTZ 🚨

For the first release of the series we have Aussie talent Wax Thief supplying us with a dub straight from the top shelf of Madison Avenue’s 1999 hit ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’.

Wax Thief is garage project by Melbourne/Naarm local, Sydney/Eora raised producer named Tom. Heavily embedded in the Australian speed garage scene, Wax Thief is no stranger to a warpy bassline and drum sequences full of swinging energy.

Wax Thief’s productions are heavily inspired by the original UKG and Speed Garage sounds of the mid to late 90s and the infectious club hits of the 2000s bassline scene. His name is a homage to his love for collecting and playing vinyl, often sampling straight off his collection in an attempt to find the rarest samples.

Since his arrival in the scene it has been a whirlwind for Wax Thief, with his most recent track Top Killa getting plays by some of the biggest DJs such as @interplanetarycriminal and @sammyvirji at Park Life’s main stage, @jobjobse at Dekmantel, @djseinfeld at Lost Sundays, @yungsingh35ol at Boomtown, @benwal.music at Intercell x ADE and local legends like @bellaclaxton at A3, to name just a few.

Wax Thief has also started making waves in the underground club scene supporting UKG’s biggest international acts such as @dr_dubplate and @djqmusic, local artists such as @osmosisjones and with headline shows at Steppers Club Sydney and Slack Sound System.

WAX THIEF - DON'T CALL ME BABY [CUTZ001]

Pull Up Dat is a classic, high energy speed garage anthem and incorporates classic ragga elements along with big warping basslines and is the first solo released single by Wax Thief after the success of Top Killa which took 2024 summer festival season by storm.

The track has already gotten some exciting support from garage's biggest DJs, including Bushbaby, Dr Dubplate (EC2A), Ollie Lieshman and more.
