I don't have any philosophy, but all my life I've dreamt that i can fly, and that I know what it means to fly. In lots of dreams I leave earth. I often dream that I'm in a surrounded by people in tuxedoes, holding drinks in their hands, and I know I could shut them all up in one go. They don't want me there.Then I'm on tiptoes and I let myself go, I just take off and I end up on the ceiling. And then ... I swoop down to the floor and fly up again, and everyone says, "Oh!" Then I turn elegantly at the wall. I dream that the people are all speechless, watching me, a man, fly. Or I dream that I'm flying over mountains. That's a classic. My Music has shown it from the start. In the studio I close my eyes, I ave my hand on the fader, and I try to form the sounds. I send them through the speakers like a bird flying. That's not a philosophy, more like primitive dream to make the music fly because I'm flying.

Afternoon Version is a Georgian alternative band that first emerged in 1993, in the thick of Georgia’s post-Soviet chaos—a time of blackouts, curfews, and creative defiance. Formed by five teenagers from Tbilisi, the band found inspiration in the emotional landscapes of British music from the 90s—artists like Massive Attack, Radiohead, and Depeche Mode—blending that influence with their own raw, electronic-infused sound.

The original lineup included George "Sikha" Sikharulidze (bass, vocals, programming), Zurab "Zuricha" Dzagnidze (guitar), Goga Kavtaradze (drums), Nicka Tsereteli (keyboards, backing vocals), and Dato Toidze (guitar), with Misha Abesadze on vocals in the very early phase. Over the years, the band saw several evolutions, but always kept its introspective core and deep sonic textures intact.

In late 2023, after years of sporadic releases and quiet reverence from a niche audience, the original lineup reformed for a special project focused on re-recording and reimagining their earliest songs. This emotional reunion wasn't just a nostalgia trip—it was a creative renewal that led to a powerful new wave of performances and recordings.

Their music—from early releases like Together to more recent EPs like Unfortunately Dizzy—has always been a mirror to inner lives, national atmosphere, and the surreal melancholy of time passing. Afternoon Version remains a band that doesn’t chase trends—they create sonic spaces where memory, emotion, and experimentation blur into something beautifully timeless.
