Hello! My name is Chris. My daughter Oona [7], has a severe undiagnosed condition a bit like
cerebral palsy and it costs us thousands of pounds a year to pay for her therapies – most of which
are not available on the NHS.

We expected Oona to be born with only a small disability you may have heard of - ‘club foot’
requiring a simple operation. It was, unfortunately, only the tip of the iceberg as much more
serious conditions arose, which resulted in life-saving emergency operations and a small lifetime
of specialist physio - and many more operations on hips, jaws and feet.

We were even told she may not ‘form thoughts’ and that she was probably not going to survive.
How wrong they were! She loves life! 

Oona learned to swim this year - and it's been an epiphany! We didn’t think it was even possible.
She cannot walk more than a few steps, even with splints, but swimming has been a lifesaver for
her. But she needs so much more help than this, not just to swim, but also cope with day-today
living, and it’s hard being a carer and pulling in much income.

A charity called Tree of Hope manages Oona’s fundraising allowing us to only purchase therapies
and medical aids.

Who would have thought 90’s ravers 808 State, Plaid and The Future Sound of London would
come to the rescue? Well they have! And there’s nearly SIXTY others who also have, with
incredible label TOUCHED MUSIC remixing OONA’S LIFE!

All have submitted new exclusive tracks on one of the most impressive compilation albums in
recent memory! There’s also design by A STRANGELY ISOLATED PLACE’s Noah M / Keep Adding
and beautiful packaging layout from Grid Pattern.

THE LABEL

Touched Music have made a name as the coolest fundraising label for Cancer support in the past
and now release a ton of FSOL, Plaid and related artists on their non-profit roster. Run with passion
by Martin Boulton the label is hugely respected and releases amazing picture discs, limited
editions, digital archives and more. It’s also just a really nice community!

THE PROBLEM

People are buying less and less music and this is a (very) expensive release for the label. We are
looking for as much coverage as possible, but also people who want to interview Oona and I to
talk about the project. We need help. I’m not terribly well connected – and this is a Christmas
positive story as it’s on sale December the 10th and a nice end to another difficult year…

Let’s blow this thing up!

Dalmata Daniel presents the sixth installment of their DDS split series, manifesting a relentless torrent of raw, bumping beats and electric thunderbolts: Kraków-based Olivia brings her otherworldly sequences and hazy reverberations, while hailing from Tel Aviv, Rapha delivers acidic treatments and sinister, menacing tones of a dark, untold future. 

Side A opens up with ’Freak’, where Olivia’s swirling synth arpeggios quickly aim to enchant all listeners, tangling up their brainwaves with several layers of wicked, throbbing beats. Continuing her witching hour, ‘Odejdź’ introduces off-kilter pulses, cries and whispers in a dungeon, where no one can find the exit. Echoes tremble and screams get distorted in the dark, moist and uncanny aisles of these non-Euclidean spaces. Hyperbolic and demonic, hypnotic and manic: ‘Odejdź’ puts ashes in our eyes and takes us to places we never thought were possible in this bleak realm of our world. 

Flip the record, drop the needle and let side B commence: Rapha opens up with ‘Aggressive Disorder’, a hip hop-infused marching beat with cosmic howls and blasting basslines. Next up, as a gargantuan machinery of steam-fueled engines, ‘Bomber Jacket’ takes a confident, industrial maneuver at demonstrating nasty, scattered pieces of percussive grit, simmering its way to a textured and refined amalgam of rough and frantic pulsations. Closing the split release, ‘Access Point’ elevates the voyage to outer space: fresh and squelchy electro patterns kick in right away with sweet, rumbling lower frequencies, and while you may enjoy the interstellar ride with stardust in your eyes, don’t forget to watch out for potential alien screams and growls behind you in the cabin; they should come as no surprise if DDS06 is the OST to your personal, gruesome, galactic adventure.
