2014 kicks off with another producers competition on the Drum & Bass Arena forum revisiting the popular format of remixing a classic. Following on from previous remix competitions we are now picking up the time period of ’99 to ’03. An era where Shy FX blew up into the UK mainstream with the likes of ‘Shake Ur Body’ and ‘Feelin’ U’, Shimon & Andy C’s ‘Body Rock’ was rewound more times than a backwards waltzer and labels such as Back 2 Basics where revisiting their self-proclaimed classics.

Gliese 12B feels like a sonic capsule launched from some quiet corner of the galaxy—a place where the air shimmers in liquid blue and the silence hums with possibility. 30hz, master of weightless atmospheres, delivers five Liquid Drum & Bass tracks that behave less like songs and more like landscapes: vast, emotional, and quietly radiant.

Each track breathes like its own ecosystem. Pads stretch out like luminous fog, drums fall in soft droplets of rhythm, and basslines glide beneath everything like slow-moving rivers on an alien world. 30hz crafts layers that feel infinite, turning Gliese 12B into a small, portable universe. You don’t simply listen—you inhabit it. This release suggests that 30hz is only beginning to chart his own sonic galaxy—Gliese 12B is the first bright star on a much larger cosmic map.
