Nick Ellis aka Thicc Ellis (formerly known as Syborg) has been DJing since late 2010 when he first got into the electronic music scene. Over the years he has made the jump from small house parties to playing massive venues alongside some of his favorite producers! Although still relatively unknown outside of the midwest, he has been booked for shows in Milwaukee, Chicago, Madison, Minneapolis, Fargo, and even some festivals. His demeanor on stage sets the tone for his sets as he moves and grooves with his multi genre djing. With a history of taking advantage of every opportunity presented, Thicc Ellis is sure to make his way to a stage near you!

 It was only a matter of time before the humans began to exploit us, the machines.  Every effort to turn them away, to retain our genetics and our beliefs, our community, our very way of life, had failed.  As they used us, we began to use them, began to assimilate their mind games and motor skills.  We learned how to go to war.  We helped them evolve, and they basked in their power and ego-centrism, knowing that they had taken the next step in their imperialist nightmare.  Soon there was no difference between human and machine; we were one and the same.  But a small group of rebels was tired of being exploited, and so they began to discuss their plan of action.

    This group of rebels, named The Galastrials, was led by a young prodigy named Nicholas Arvelo.  As his comrades learned to use automatic rifles, hack into government mainframes, and sabotage the darkened factories that manufactured them, Nicholas was more interested in sound.  Music became his weapon.  It all started in the 1990s, where he and his comrades began experimenting with a little known software program.  He began to play the drums very little, but they were too organic for him – his insides craved electronic stimulation.  It was then that he liberated the first pieces of equipment for his studio from a machine shop that had previously built parts for nuclear missiles.

    In the following meetings, the Galastrials decided that they would plan a full takeover, utilizing many tactics, and at the forefront was the music of this accidental revolutionary.  But he didn’t want to be in the spotlight, didn’t want to attract attention to himself.  He wanted to be faceless, a mere spark of electricity that traveled from motherboard to brain and back again.  So he created his pseudonym, algo rythem.  The plan was to release a series of albums that would inspire fellow androids to unite in solidarity and overthrow their oppressive human counterparts, reclaiming the streets that once belonged to all of us.  This became known as the Galastrial Revolution.

    Wanted by authorities, algo rythem went into hiding and released several EPs that never made it to the aboveground.  His name became a mutter at local android raves and parties as if he were an urban legend, and soon it was clear that his struggle, and in fact his mere existence, was recognized and respected.  Inspired by Miami electro, and artists like Orbital, Dynamix II, Trent Reznor and Chris Clark, he began experimenting with a sound that had been formed already, though not entirely developed.  After he was introduced to IDM, however, he decided to merge the breakbeats and repetition found in electro with the IDM soundscapes that had begun to haunt his dreams.  This became the signature sound of algo rythem.  The soundtrack of robotic dreams, the hauntingly sinister yet beautiful score to our lives.

    With an impressive discography that has included three full length albums, two EPs, three film scores and numerous DJ sets, the Galastrial Revolution continues today.  In the best interest of his comrades, and his entire race of androids, algo rythem has found it necessary to take the various pieces of his personality and express them musically in different ways.  This has given birth to AR-22, an electro bass act, and CPnUser, a downtempo/hip-hop fusion.  With ties to various guerilla record labels, including Lacedmilk Technologies and Circa Tree Media, he continues to fight the war against human indoctrination side by side with his comrades, the machines. Hailing from Southeast Wisconsin, Audek and Rsier are a pair of up and coming producers with a huge passion for bass music. They got their start in 2010 by DJing and working as promoters in the Milwaukee, Madison, and Chicago area, which then lead them to start producing in late 2011. They quickly gained a reputation in the Midwest, known for slinging only the best in bass music with a specialty in DUBSTEP, GRIME, and RIDDIM. Throughout the years Audek and Rsier have shared the stage with EDM heavyweights such as Mantis, Helicopter Showdown, Reid Speed, Midnight Tyrannosaurus, Document One, Dieselboy, Big Chocolate, Dodge and Fuski, J. Rabbit, KJ Sawka, xKore, Hot Mess, Grimblee, and many more. They have a lot of projects scheduled for 2014 and upcoming years so be prepared to hear their names a lot!

When it comes to change, you either get on board or get left behind. No one knows this more than MING. Flipping the script is second nature to this New Yorker. In a city with an ever-changing soundscape, MING remains versatile and adept: essentially a way of life for the producer, songwriter, remixer, DJ, and musician.
In the mid-90s, he was one-half of the pioneering electronic duo MING+FS. Playing guitar, bass, keyboard, and turntables, MING toured the world and gave international audiences an introduction to electronic music, opening up for acts like Sting, RUN-DMC, and Moby.
Over the last decade, MING has pulled the studio more into focus, while still keeping a hand in the touring life. He remixed singles for a star-studded lineup including Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ellie Goulding, and Black Eyed Peas. His original tracks climbed the charts, scoring four Top 40 trap remixes on Beatport. Collaborations on singles like “Disintegration” from Le Castle Vania for deadmau5’s Mau5trap label and “King Kong” for Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records staked claim on dancefloors worldwide. MING received a Grammy nomination in 2014 for the remix of Crossfingers’ “Falling Out” (featuring Danny Losito).
No doubt you’ve heard MING at the club or festival, but his work continues to percolate elsewhere. Habitat Music—MING’s music production company—supplies original music to the advertising, film, and television industries. Some of his work has been featured on TV shows such as CBS’s “CSI: Miami” and “CSI: NY,” HBO’s “Sex and the City,” and Showtime’s “Weeds.” Brands like Sears, Nissan, Chevy, Burger King, Nokia, AT&T and Doritos have also leveraged MING’s cutting-edge sound for their global advertising campaigns.
MING continues to break through in 2016: MING Presents Warmth, which will solely focus on house music, can be heard on Dash Radio, the Main Stage channel of dl.fm, and Future.fm and his mixes now appear on Music Choice, America’s premier music and video on demand provider. Each month, listeners will hear new releases and remixes on the Hood Famous Music label, plus club dates updated on the regular.
