Episode 81. Deep, bassline driven progressive music. Huge melodic breakdowns. Not too much vocal work honestly. but sometimes the mix just doesn't need it. A new first for me - playing an ID. Thanks to Hilsdon for the track, its a banger.

Hello again friends, 

Here it is: 2023's edition of my Winter Solstice mix. I know what you’re thinking “but wasn’t the solstice over a month ago”? If so, you are absolutely correct! Much like some of you out there, winters have recently been somewhat of a challenge in recent years. I tend to get lost in black and white or thinking in absolutes when pursuing life goals and the constant journey of self-improvement.  

If this message does one thing, I hope it serves as a reminder to always be kind to yourselves as you move towards your goals and objectives. Take your time, and remember to enjoy the journey as it unfolds in your day-to-day reality. Today is all we are ever promised.
 
I am so grateful for this ever expanding community, and so thankful to have the opportunity to continue growing together. Please stay tuned for exciting news on the future of Bassscamp and House of Kink.

Chris Fortier- Saturo Sounds Radio 3/25/16

Dealo Brown (Dale Hall) was born in 1989, with his first recollection of music coming 6 years later. Armed with a twin tape deck and headphones, he listened non-stop to the likes of Nirvana, The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, Motorhead amongst lots of other types of music. 

As he grew up his obsession with music grew with him. At 14 he got his first pair of decks, and a bunch of records to practise with, records that included labels like Perfecto and Intec. This eventually lead Dale towards the makers of these tracks… Sasha, John Digweed, Timo Maas all helped in defining his music tastes. Dale also got into Breakbeats, and artists such as The Freestylers, Krafty Kuts, Stanton Warriors and The Plump DJ’s. 

At around the same time he had started raving, Dale was also getting his first playing gig. In 2006, after going to Global Gathering and Bedrock nights in London, he was setting up “Future Grooves” in his home town, a monthly night he ran with his friends, playing everything from Breaks to Techno to Prog. 

Since then, Dale has found himself playing at a variety of gigs, memorably packing out pubs on Wednesdays with Ed Solo, DJing with The Freestylers on a Krafty Kuts Boat Party, and just last year, debuting at the mighty Glastonbury with a set at Platform 23, part of the Shangri-La area.

However, his most memorable night also happened last year, as he played back to back with Ritchie Blacker and Mr. Sosa at the last ‘On Air Records' night in Bristol, where he now lives.

Following on from these Dale has claimed residencies for 212 RadioUK and for the aforementioned ‘On Air Records’ label, Bristol’s finest underground house & techno label. Dale has also found DJ slots online too, playing for SubCode on more than one occasion. 

Moving into 2023, expect to hear new music as Dale branches out into Production, and a stack of new bookings in which to play them at. Dale’s biggest target moving forward is to have the DJ’s and artists he has followed throughout the years finally play the music he makes.
