GTG Premiere | Aidan Rudd - Necromancer (Connor Wall Remix) [DP015]

Kr!z returns to SK_eleven with his second release on the label, Glaciers. The four-tracker channels the stripped-back intensity of his recent releases on Token among others, which continues to draw worldwide support.

An undercurrent of sly disruption shapes the record’s flow: tracks tease and redirect, shifting from glassy, bouncing motifs to short, metallic gestures that slide, snap, or vanish. Drum-plate tones are left raw and unpolished, amplifying their own raw percussive character.

As the record deepens, its playful surfaces give way to something darker, more disorienting - syncopated, controlled, and quietly relentless. What starts as a light-handed rhythmic tease slowly descends into something more vindictive and volatile: a glacial hypnosis layered with tension and a restrained kind of malice.

After releasing their magnificent album Contemporary Spaces in January this year on @Dynamic-Reflection, the superb @AbstractDivision boys are readying the first of two remix packages to be released in consecutive months.

As expected, it features a star studded lineup including reworks from Tensal, Deepbass & Ness, @LewisFautzi, Stefan Vincent and Haeken.

For our DT:Premiere from Part 1, we chose the remix by Lewis Fautzi of “Encounter“. A regular contributor with the likes of Soma, Figure and PoleGroup, the Faut Section label boss turns in a hypnotic, spacious and dreamy affair of the highest order. Techno two-piece Slam (Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle) bring the new double vinyl album Machine Cut Noise to the forefront next month Stuart and Orde's day-to-day proceedings consist of maximum time spent on the road, in airports and hotels; which also forms the creative hub for their music-making. It's this transitory state that largely dominates the vibe on Machine Cut Noise.

With each of the album's eleven tracks handed its own unique energy, this concept is probably depicted most prevalently in "Psalm". There is a deep emotional core found within this programmed 7.5-minute piece. It conjures a direction that 'has been paved by the machines which surround us'. A technophile's voyage into the unknown we strongly recommend getting on board with.

Machine Cut Noise comes out on 28th October on Slam's own Soma Records.

The next instalment on Afterlife comes from Vaal with remixes by Locked Groove and Baikal. ’Wander To Hell’ is a three track EP, with three versions of the same track that each encapsulate the spirit of Afterlife in their own individual way.

Heralding from a rock n’roll and jazz background Vaal is unperturbed by the strict rules that define & guard electronic music. ‘Wander To Hell’ is stripped back and gentle, highlighting the emotive side of the label. The combination of alluring vocals and beautiful reverberating chords along with the ebb and flow of distortion makes it a composition that grips the listener from start to finish.
Belgian talent Locked Groove seeks the dancefloor with his remix. He brings back a little familiarity, the vocal remains, but is now present amongst an assortment of synths and percussion, pushing through to darker, heavier depths.
Baikal makes multi layered electronic music simultaneously for the heart, mind and feet. His version of ‘Wander To Hell’ is truly spellbinding, featuring a hypnotic groove that glides seamlessly through a continuum of time and space.
