Mrk Grim - The Broken Vertex [SOMA SELECTS Premiere]

The 2-hour recording of the Nil Warehouse event on 23 August in Göttingen. My set was from midnight to 2 a.m. It was recorded on four CDJs and the Xone 96. The location was an old wine house. Super cool venue, great sound system, great people. The set is a driving, hypnotic set at 140 bpm. I threw in a few deep old-school tracks.

Sounds From NoWhere is pleased to premiere a new Alexander Kowalski & Eddie Hale' gem remixed by Steve Rachmad on 'DENUDE Records'.

Denude presents the first instalment of the special collaboration series Berlin Sessions, featuring German techno stalwart Alexander Kowalski and Australian mainstay Eddie Hale.

Recorded in 2024 at Kowalski’s Damage Studios in Berlin, the pair crafted three compelling original tracks that reflect their shared vision. 
Rounding out the release, Dutch legend Steve Rachmad contributes a standout remix.

Opening track Fernwärme draws listeners in gradually, radiating warmth through cinematic pads, deep groove, and subtle tension—a fitting soundtrack to an extended Berlin summer.

Echoes Between Concrete Plates shifts gears, layering intricate sound design and ghostly atmospheres over a taut, driving rhythm as we delve deeper into the haze.

Steve Rachmad’s remix of Fernwärme lifts the journey skyward, infusing the original with a timeless arpeggiated touch—preserving its spirit while adding fresh dimension.

Closing out the EP, Signal takes a mellow, emotive turn—an introspective and unexpected finale born from the distinctive synergy between these collaborators.

“Static Rite” is the result of a sonic dialogue between two producers, D/n and Linear Phase, united by a deep, hypnotic, and physical approach to techno. The EP unfolds within the realm of hypnotic/RAW techno, where repetition becomes a perceptual language and sound turns into ritual.
Italian-born, Berlin-based D/n contributes the A-side with “Resonant Shift” and “Blind Motion,” two tracks built on dub textures, dark atmospheres, and broken rhythmic structures. His magnetic, slow-burning sound reflects years of evolution from the underground acid scene to immersive techno sets in venues like Tresor and Zur Klappe. D/n’s tracks have garnered support from renowned artists.
On the B-side, Spanish producer Linear Phase offers “Mandatory” and “Silent Widow,” showcasing his refined modular synthesis and deep sound design. With over 50 releases on labels like Drumcode LTD, Planet Rhythm, and Edit Select, his style fuses ambient depth with raw, hypnotic intensity.

His sound blends classic 4/4 rhythms with a hypnotic touch, creating dynamic sets rich in texture. Over the years, he had the opportunity to play with artists like Nur Jaber, Tarkno, Steve RedHead, future.666, Fran LF, Lacchesi, Vel, ROMMEK, SORAÄ. He has showcased his music in clubs like Smolna, Crackhouse, Ciało, Transformator, STK-47 and more. 

Tekknik:

DJ, producer, recording engineer, co-founder of Synapsa label. He began his adventure with music in 2015, during which he had the opportunity to play at such venues as Las Festival, Crackhouse, Ciało, Drugi Dom, Transformator, Wyspa Tamka, Cel, Schron and Techno Balkon. He is a graduate of the School of Modern Music in Wroclaw. He has worked with brands such as Underzone and Nektar Records, Obscuur, MOTZ, Märked and Transition. He had the opportunity to play with Vladimir Dubyshkin, Tarkno, TRYM, Clara Cuvé, Lacchesi, Vel, future.666, Sept, Steve RedHead, Eargasm God, Parfait, Janina, Handmade, Bloody Mary and many more. For him, music is a forum for expressing emotions, which means he doesn't like to lock himself within one genre. Although the dystopian rhythms are closest to his heart, he likes to experiment by combining different styles.

The Latest offering on Glasgow based label Sleaze sees a debut contribution from Andre Crom.

Making a huge shift and moving to Berlin with frequent visits to Barcelona, has brought about his current sound and influenced his latest productions. The OFF Recordings label head has also started a new project called VOIGHT that is picking up steam and one to keep a close eye on, as he gives us a taste of what’s to come.

Four distinctly different original tracks make up the Rhea EP. A combination of raw drive, edgy sounds and with a touch of euphoria for good measure show Andre’s devout knowledge of the dancefloor and how to create said weapons.

The track we selected for this DT:Premiere is “Tethys” that uses a punchy tom roll to get straight down to action. Shortly in, the modular, bleeping hook shines through and takes hold over waves of intensity. An anti-climactic crescendo spins the track on its head, using the break to reset and strip the layers back, it allows for another bout of power.
