Esilum - Suggest [LP]

Born in Southern Spain, this DJ/Producer has been involved in the electronic music scene over the past 15 years, since he bought his first pair of vinyl desks at age 14. By age 17 he was already producing his first tunes. After a decade of self-taught sound design and a few years of harmony’s studies, his current productions show the great potential of this young electronic artist. 

For the last 10 years he has primarily been involved in the Drum&Bass music under the name of Impak. The strength of his potential can be measured by his relevance in the D&B scene. In Spain, he became one of the most relevant Dj/Producers of this genre while most of his depurated productions were commonly heard at most of the D&B parties, regularly appearing in top positions of Beatport charts. His name headlined parties across the country, ending up being resident DJ of the legendary club Industrial Copera in Granada. Internationally, Impak is a renowned name who has released his productions in major labels like Cause4Concern, supported by the most relevant artists like Optiv,Btk or Prolix and toured all over Europe in several occasions. 

All this experience is reflected in his new stellar techno productions under the new aka Atonism. The main concept behind Atonism is to get dancing and intellect together in the dancefloor, seeking to mix quality, harmony, melody and textures with a delicate setting.Techno,dark techno,Progressive,trance to name a few styles, are his reference of choice when he begins the composition of a new track.

His new path, already mature and characterized by a new way of understanding musicality and elegance.
Atonism has come to bring a new way to see dance music. Keep his name in mind, because Atonism is here to stay.

Black Mirror Park  - Fever Dream [DBR046]

Dimi Angelis' 10th release on his ANGLS label is an exercise in weaponised minimalism - four highly machined tools, rich with subliminal and subversive frequencies.

“The Web of Fear” opens with assertive and persistent percussion complemented by an enveloping low-end that slowly builds tension across the track’s length. “Burlesque” follows with a militant, broken rhythm pattern that is progressively interrupted by dissonant and metallic stabs. Both tracks are free of frills - the few elements at play here are used to their full effect to create standout tools, perfect for layering.

“Imaginary Voyage” veers into minimalist sci-fi territory, perhaps the most introspective track on the EP. It presents a sparse groove decorated by FM tones that come and go like passing comets. “Polemics” closes the story with aggressive character - machine-driven, bitcrushed loops driven to the point of destruction, against the ebb and flow of a continuously modulated low-end. All bite, no bark.

B. Riley is an artist from Florida, USA and CMND CTRL is his new label making great moves having enlisted artist contributions such as Tim Xavier, Alexi Delano, Ray Kajioka, and Orion to the project thus far.

Remix duty on the fifth EP titled CTRL005 is the magical Madrid-based producer and Non Series label head Psyk providing a new take. His music can be found on Tresor Records, Luke Slater’s Mote Evolver, Len Faki’s Figure, and he has collaborated with peers like Reeko and Pascual.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the remix of “Enter The Ring” with its bouncing groove. Using a rubbery, warping modular tone to great effect, this abstract dance floor jam has haunting elements wrapped up in a well-crafted piece of raw and quirky mechanics.

The third release on Quintessence is the debut single by @yaroslavikonnikov, a promo resident who has recently immersed himself in producing.

Musically, the track Unpacked Karma is inspired by the aesthetics of low-tech, hypnotic and trance. Dense palisade bass, analog modulations, dreamy arpeggios and non-standard percussion pattern — that's the sound on our agenda.

"For me, it's the soundtrack of an inner, deep journey. Sometimes it feels like an endless and pointless running in circles, but it's not. Each new entry is getting rid of excess and pretense, from all this bug—eyed fuss that prevents our mighty spiritual principle from manifesting."
