We are very excited to present to you Duplicity 037 with fellow Edinburgh local @arrinasound bringing you an hour of cutting edge industrial dance-floor excavators and heavy weaponry.

Arrina, hailing from Edinburgh, is forging his position as fierce producer and DJ in the Scottish techno scene.

His love for the club has made for a vibrant and heavy hitting sound behind the turntables. Channelling obscure and timeless techno gems, his fast-paced sets capture themes of intensity and passion through a myriad of dance-floor sounds from fast-paced acid to forward thinking techno and harder, industrial sounds. With a distinct ear for authentic grooves and mesmeric sound design, Arrina is as captivating in the studio as he is behind the decks. His productions are an extension of that club space and find him crafting up melancholic and hard-edged sounds using analogue hardware for late night excursions into the club realm. His forthcoming release on Null Recs will be seen to push him as a force to be reckoned with on the underground scene.

We turn our attention back to some homegrown talent as episode 19 of the AFP comes from Scottish artist Zan Heimer who is currently carving his way through the scene.

Zan has a unique approach to both his sets and productions, Influenced by sounds from early days of listening to electronic music. He has been seen playing in clubs with some of the most respected artists around. With solid support for his own productions from the likes of Oscar Mulero, Lars Huismann, Stephanie sykes, Swarm Intelligence, Ghost In The Machine and many more.

Also the Co-owner of his own imprint Roue Records, building up a solid foundation for like minded artists and his own productions. Pushing his sounds to unexpressed areas in the sonic territory and blending the line between experimental and four to the floor thrashing techno

The Spanish underground stable Hxagrm returns with another interesting release. Now onto their twentieth EP from Colombian talent Nicolas Cetina and his latest package titled Suma de Azares that also has remixes from returning artists Vertical Spectrum and stndrd also included.

Vertical Spectrum is know for his contributions to Oscar Mulero’s PoleGroup, Abstract Division’s Dynamic Reflection and Kessell’s Granulart, Animal Farm and many others.

For this DT:Premiere we selected his remix of “Universos Simultáneos” that comes wrapped in a rolling and spaced-out aesthetic. Relentless yet subtle, this is a pin-point pilgrimage of hypnosis and hidden funk polished with dark atmospherics.

UK based Arnaud Le Texier returns to Soma with yet another hard hitting, warping release entitled Mystery Picker. A regular on the global Techno scene, Arnaud’s productions are densely packed and built with attitude. 

Collisions opens the EP at full pace as modulating synths gather momentum, building in intensity with every step. Mystery steps up next, another energy packed affair that doesn’t pull any punches as it’s hypnotic elements, paired with hammering percussion deliver a hard, driving track. Picker slows things down momentarily but doesn’t drop out on intensity. Constantly modulating and warped synths dominate this more hypnotic track. Parallel Razor closes out with more aggressive elements taking the forefront. Distorted and dark and packed full of jarring and dynamic rhythms, this is a perfect closing track from one of the UK’s undoubted talents.
