For the eight edition of their label catalogue, [selected] puts the focus on their residents again. The Berlin based duo Lyric are in charge of this one, putting hypnotizing loops and tantalizing rhythms as their main focus.
As it should be, the EP starts out with its „Introduction”. It is plain and simple – no playing around, straight to the point techno without unwanted attitude or makeup. Sounds creeping in and out, searching for their roots and restlessly evolving by any means necessary.
Only the universe is „Eternal”. The mesmerizing scapes and slashes that build the composition construct a feeling of endless enchantment, while leaving no room for doubts that this is – indeed – eternal.
„Neologism” digs deeper and explores the greater realms of the genre. Soft keys dangle over ones head like an asymmetric pendulum – drooling you in, putting you in a transcendent state where everything is nothing and no limits seem to exist.
While still in trance, „Hemisphere” puts a spin on the record’s atmosphere. The mind boggling loop character is still very present, the odd chord progression puts an unexpected twist on it. Almost nightmare-ish, the elements gather and layer around you like a snake that has just shed its skin.
For the finale A.Morgan puts his spin on „Hemisphere”. The chords get more stabby, a range of belly, clinching percussion are eager to express themselves, tumbling through spheres of light and darkness.

In a much-anticipated return to the imprint's catalogue, label head @tommyfourseven unveils his first solo release in four years: 47039. Lauded as a pioneer of "uncompromising vision" by Resident Advisor, the producer has further honed his tight, technical and highly nuanced palette in a collection that alchemizes rolling techno and plaintive broken beat. 

Opener "SWORN" is the toughest and most tactile track on the EP, sculpted with searing synth lines that snake through dense percussive thickets. On "IXIAN", Tommy gives a hazy nod to his roots in drum n' bass with a half time groove that splinters with meteoric sweeps and mangled vocals—a readout from beyond. The B-side is still stamped with Tommy's impeccable attention to sound design, yet it turns downwards, mining cavernous and soul-penetrating depths. "CYCLES", an aqueous four-to-the-floor cut that burbles with effervescent chord stabs, offers softer shades that spill into spectral ambient closer "AERIAL". It's a lighter side we rarely hear from the British talent, displaying his tenacity as a far-reaching, constantly evolving artist with a knack for bringing listeners into 47's far-reaching otherworldly fold.

Irish techno legend Sunil Sharpe founded the Dublin-based vinyl and digital label Earwiggle, which has released music by artists ranging from Paul Birken to AnD, Steve Stoll, Neil Landstrumm, and Manni Dee.

Having welcomed the Spanish duo NX1 back to the label after their 2019 Earwiggle debut, Samot and Surit are still steadfast in their dedication to intense sound warfare. The 'Shaked Ear' EP is a new follow-up to their recently released debut album on Nexe Records and they also list appearances on Oscar Mulero's PoleGroup, Andre Kronert's ODD / EVEN and Developer's Modularz.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "EW8" with a tough and industrial edge to its palette. Amidst the thundering kicks are abrasive, modular pulses and gritty percussion elements, that create an intense groove with plenty of venom, but still a raw and heavy dance floor worker.
