Devastating dance floor rhythms from Slam on the Wave Tension EP

Slam continue to up their momentum with the first EP since their massive new album Dark Channel. Once again, the sole focus being straight up techno, designed for the dance floor, as they drop the 3 track ‘Wave Tension EP’. Never content to remain stationary, the latest EP has the duo in fine form as they drive to evolve the contemporary techno sound.

Title track 'Wave Tension' is a relentless, driven opener as slightly distorting synths mutate throughout the track pursued by Slam’s ever distinctive rhythms. 'Lost Pattern' continues in hard hitting fashion with alarm-like synths pushing the intensity before 'Violence' closes out the EP with warping and viscous dynamics that create propulsive atmospherics.

Non-Cyclic - Relative Motion [FRNZYVA004]

I tend to overstuff my tracks, no difference with this one. Always been doing this. If things fit over one another musically, I put them on top of one another. But this is very often a mistake. Here, I am very unsure if it is wise to put the robot chorus on top of the house chords. Right now, I am considering dropping the vocoder vocals altogether and replacing them with some female vocals; some soft voice that creates a contra to the techno sound.

EvilGroove is an American-based techno label co-founded by Lindsey Herbert and Jason Doll that has featured artists such as Truncate, Kr!z, Hemka, and Dustin Zahn, as well as supporting simmering underground talent.

PS11 returns to EvilGroove for his debut EP, and the American artist is resident at E-HRZN events in Miami and also lists appearances on BCCO, Chicago Jaxxx, Ferdinger's Life in Patterns, Luca Tresque's Splatter, Concrete Tbilisi, and more.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Rift" with a jackin' rhythm and tribal percussion influences. Grooving and raw, the catchy vocal adds even more energy to this tight and rolling floor jam.
