Alexander Johansson & Mattias Fridell are two Swedish artists actively involved in the Techno and House scene since the late '90s, with an impressive amount of records released under their names.

Next up, they combine forces for the second EP on Recorded Things. Simhall 101 EP is a stunning mix of chaos and tension, with precise layered rhythms alongside hypnotic synth lines and beautiful melodies, whooshing arps surrounded by an excellent percussion workout. made of CONCRETE is a Berlin imprint that has a healthy habit of always selecting interesting artists for their releases such as Markus Suckut, Alex Bau, Kyle Geiger, Alexander Kowalski or Andre Kronert.

The twenty seventh EP aptly titled Concrete Structures welcomes back Italian artist Rhythm Assembler aka MTD who heads up the Methodical label as well as Sonntag Morgen. Also featuring on remix duty is the excellent Johannes Volk of Exploration Records and who can also be found on Jeff Mill’s Axis, Sven Väth’s Cocoon or Kr!z’s Token.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the track “Mangle” that is a masterful trip into hooky techno. The modular bleeps are an instant familiarity and the sci-fi tones are as sensationally satisfying, while the warm and stabbing bass notes provide the perfect jovial ride.

The second release on Hypnotic Journeys brings together emerging Georgian producers and celebrated names from the global techno scene, weaving a story of tension, resistance, and transcendence.

Batumi-based newcomer Grenuy opens the compilation with a debut ambient piece that feels both intimate and expansive, a slow-burning meditation on space and emotion. His work is reimagined by Van Morph, a revered producer and founder of Khoros Records, who drives the track into deeper territory with an old-school, hypnotic groove.

NFNM (formerly Kapa), a young yet distinctive voice in the Tbilisi underground, delivers a piece of textural techno rich with movement and raw emotion. The journey concludes with a powerful remix by Tsott, founder of the forward-thinking Spira Records, whose deep and cerebral approach brings the compilation full circle.

“Friction” is a testament to Hypnotic Journeys’ ethos: uniting generations, sounds, and visions through hypnotic techno as a futurist statement.
