His sound is focused on hypnotic, groovy and old school rhythms. Recently, he released on notable labels such as DifferentSound, Beluga Tracks and NO-ID. This has led to his tracks being supported by artists with the likes of Vladimir Dubyshkin, MARRØN and Léa Occhi to name a few.⁠

One of the basic functions of electronic music is to create a stimulus and generate a response. Without this nothing makes sense. That's why Joton in this new EP intends to use his characteristic techno sound to provoke in electronic music lovers a strong response, without half measures, without filters, without prefabricated tricks. "Stimulus and Response" is composed by 4 tracks that compose a journey that moves away from the linear path and proposes a constant roller coaster of emotions.   

"Moving Forward, Not Back" - Joton Ft. Zaid was created during one of Joton's online production courses and is a clear example of the possibilities of collaborative work between teacher and student, achieving a perfect symbiosis and coordination.

"Angry Is Easier" is an example of forceful techno, hard, without concessions, that looks for the purity of the sound without half measures. 

 "Iquique" was made during a group course in the city of Iquique in Chile, during Joton's last tour in South America 2 months ago. A sample of the power of improvisation, of how in a matter of seconds you can compose a piece that gives off an unusual freshness.

"All That Glitters" stands out for its forcefulness, a strong proposal, a direct sound designed to blow up the danceflor. It is an off beat track, a perfect tool for the mix, with percussive elements that flow unbound through the stereo.

Una de las funciones básicas de la música electrónica es crear un estímulo y generar una respuesta. Sin esto nada tiene sentido. Por eso Joton en este nuevo EP pretende utilizar su característico sonido techno para provocar en los amantes de la electrónica una respuesta contundente, sin medias tintas, sin filtros, sin trucos prefabricados. “Stimulus and Response” está compuesto por 4 tracks que componen un viaje que se aleja del camino lineal y propone una constante montaña rusa de emociones.   

“Moving Forward, Not Back - Joton Ft. Zaid “ fue creado durante uno de los cursos de producción online de Joton y es una muestra clara de las posibilidades del trabajo colaborativo entre maestro y alumno, logrando una simbiosis y coordinación perfecta.

“ Angry Is Easier “ es un ejemplo de techno contundente, duro, sin concesiones, que busca la pureza del sonido sin medias tintas. 

“ Iquique “ fue realizado durante un curso presencial grupal en la ciudad de Iquique en Chile, durante la última gira de Joton por Sudamérica hace 2 meses. Una muestra del poder de la improvisación, de cómo en cuestión de segundos se puede componer una pieza que desprende una frescura inusual.

“ All That Glitters “ destaca por su contundencia, una propuesta fuerte, un sonido directo diseñado para reventar la pista. Se trata de un track off beat, una herramienta perfecta para la mezcla, con elementos de percusión que fluyen sin ataduras por el estéreo.

Os presentamos una de nuestras secciones. En Label of Month recibiremos cada mes a un sello o colectivo con los que compartimos inquietudes. 

En este primer mes recibimos el sello y fiesta Balls Baile. Movimiento itinerante por todo el territorio europeo con diferentes releases y fiestas. Los valores de Balls pivotan sobre el amor a la música de pista desde el sentido más pasional. Un proyecto creado desde el buen gusto y con la idea de promover la cultura electrónica. En esta ocasión contamos con un mix del artista Lucas Sosa (AR) el cual también es autor de uno de los temas que formarán parte del próximo VA de Balls.

In this first month we receive the label and party Balls Baile. Itinerant movement throughout Europe with different releases and parties. The values of Balls pivot on the love of dancefloor music from the most passionate sense. A project created from good taste and with the idea of promoting electronic culture. CommonSense is a label from Mexico that has welcomed artists such as Peter Van Hoesen, Ricardo Garduno, Juan Sanchez, DJ Nobu and Eduardo De La Calle.

The latest ten-track VA titled CommonSense Vol. 5 features a fantastic collection of artists including Truncate, Denise Rabe, Fixeer and PWCCA.

Truncate‘s raw and punchy production caught our ear. The Los Angeles-based conductor is known for releasing on 50 Weapons, Luke Slater’s Mote-Evolver, Len Faki’s Figure, as well as his Truncate label project.

For this DT:Premiere we selected his track “Untitled Tool” that takes on a slightly different approach to usual grooves. Using twisting modular tones as the main riffs, his always on point and particular percussion is hit varying effects that add to the fun of this jackin’ and freaky cut.

After releasing on Blueprint and launching our album on Recorded Things, we're back with the first EP on Lømsk year 2023. "Tonkonst" went through many shapes until we settled on this final version, where the coarse synth sequence is at the center of attention, encouraged by the driving rhythms in the background. With "Trappan" we went for a mellow yet tricky & groovy experience. "I all enkelhet" is all about mischievous & dirty funk, watch out for that crash cymbal. "Mitt i prick" ends the EP with a certain degree of minimalism, bubbly and a smooth synth sequence. Sly & shifty, you may rely on us..

We welcome again  KØLPØS on NEWRHYTHMIC RECS. “ Magnetosfera y Composición“ dark techno mixed with restrained and immersive atmospheres

Unlike Earth, Mars is not protected from solar wind by a strong magnetosphere generated by the rotation of the outer core's molten iron; on the contrary, its smaller and less energetic core cooled rapidly, almost stopping its internal rotation. Deprived of this dynamo effect, its magnetic field is very weak, about 10,000 times weaker than Earth's; but it must have been intense, as there are parts of its crust that still retain remnants of the ancient global magnetic field, or show evidence of having been magnetized. This paleomagnetism suggests that plate tectonics also occurred on Mars, with movements of its superficial crust over the fluid mantle. It is estimated that these took place 4 billion years ago.

Re:Conceive 2 is a fundraising compilation of cutting-edge electronic music from artists based in, and orbiting around Montréal. It will activate its broad stylistic range into social action by donating all net profits to The Native Women’s Shelter of Montréal and Just Solutions, a pro bono refugee legal clinic. Contributing artists range from world-renowned to best-kept secrets. Opening with an orchestral bang, a long and hot fire of tracks 2–17 then burns out into the steam of tracks 18–23, before being capped by a chapter of amorphous and watery sound baths. The dance floor is almost always present: at times practically; at times abstracted and imagined; at other times very, very far away. The through line of the album is that of Montréal, where we lay our scene. It is the sound of this time, in this place. 
We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.

Re:Conceive is a music and social initiative which releases compilation albums. The goals are twofold: to present high calibre electronic music from Montréal, and use the proceeds of its sale to support vital social initiatives. Curated more along zonal lines than aesthetic ones, each edition attempts to highlight a selection of the city’s movers and shakers in electronic music. The first edition raised over $1,300 and received support from Resident Advisor, Bandcamp editorial, Mes enceintes font défaut, Music Is My Sanctuary, Exclaim! and Also Cool Mag.
