Songwriter/producer Deb Ferrara's latest EP, Breathe, was mastered at Abbey Road Studios and released in spring 2024.  She is currently working on a new project, Two Scintillas, with longtime collaborator / writer / producer, Askold Buk.

Ferrara's music can be heard in film, TV and advertising projects, including MTV, Paramount, Time Warner, Ricola, and HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones.

In addition to writing, producing and working with up-and-coming artists, over the years Ferrara founded and hosted several showcases; the long-running ASCAP sponsored series, NJ Songwriters in the Round (Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ), Girls Night Out at the legendary Bitter End in New York, and she co-hosted the New Jersey chapter of the national series, Chick Singer Night. In addition, Ferrara and multi-platinum, Grammy Award winning writer/producer, Rob Fusari, collaborated on a talent contest with Simon Malls and WPLJ called Sing to Win.

Ferrara released several records over the years.  Her album, Anything But Ordinary, was met with rave reviews and won her a spot to showcase at the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Twice Ferrara was invited to Austin to showcase her music at SXSW. Several songs were licensed for sync opportunities, and 2 songs were covered by other artists.

Her lifelong connection with music began at five years old with “Christmas Time (is Near),” a Christmas record that climbed to #35 on the charts. At the age of 12 she started playing guitar, by 16 she was writing her own music, and at 18 Ferrara recorded and co-produced Go Away, a five-song EP that won two Billboard songwriting awards and the attention of Chrysalis Records.

Aware of music’s power to make a difference, Ferrara founded Songs for the Cause, a sold-out concert series that raised breast cancer awareness and money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Later, after witnessing first-hand the impact of Musicians on Call, she also organized a concert to benefit the artists who tirelessly went room-to-room in hospitals to entertain patients when they most needed it. Top local talent donated their passion and time to make these concerts such a huge success, and celebrities including U2’s Edge, B.B. King, Melissa Etheridge, Carole King, Pink, Beyoncé, Bon Jovi, and Bonnie Raitt donated autographed items for auction.

Ferrara has been written up in various online and print publications, including Billboard, The New York Times, More and Musical Discoveries. ASCAP featured her in an Audio Portrait for its website. She is the President of More Good Music Publishing and previously served as Vice President of Women in Music, Inc.

Songwriters in the Round has recently been relaunched globally keeping Ferrara at the forefront for discovering new talent.
