Matt Walsh’s Clouded Vision Recordings starts the year as it left off with another pair of peak time, slowed-down, twisted techno treats from Parisian producer, Demian. Remixes come from MEANT label owner, Remain, Philadelphia’s Pink Skull and the up and coming Spanish trio, Gameboyz.

With Love & Voodoo has already seen the light through Daniel Avery’s recent 6 Mix and Resident Advisor podcast as well as being a huge favorite with Hot Flush label honcho, Scuba. It is a dark and effective late night track, full of emotion and flair. Spiraculum is a slower, deeper number, perfect to start a set off with a great intro and build into a crescendo.

With forthcoming releases from Magic Feet and Bird Scarer favorite, “Dark Stands”, Best Kept Secret’s “Few Nolder” and more from the brilliant Dimitri Veimar, plus a second “Clouded Vision Experiment” compilation in the pipeline, the label looks set for a busy year ahead.

It was an honor getting to be a part of the creative powerhouse that is The Glitch Mob. Having been friends for 15 years or so, and watching each of them progress over the years, it has been incredible to experience their triad of musical wizardry. My favorite part about this song is that we didn't end up with some hands-in-the-air banger, and instead it’s like this deep unicorn make-out track or something. Although I couldn't find the word in a dictionary, Justin informed us that “a paracosm is a detailed imaginary world created inside one's mind. This fantasy world may involve humans, animals, and things that exist in reality; or it may also contain entities that are entirely imaginary, alien, and otherworldly.” Perhaps the word is merely a paracosm in Justin's mind, but either way I hope there are unicorns there…

deBonton est un label indépendant parisien qui se bat dure pour trouver la plus naïve et la plus passionnante pop électronique moderne. Il creuse dans une scène éclectique et internationale pour offrir une compilation annuelle rassemblant des titres inédits d'artistes qui ont juré d'humaniser la musique de machine. Les éditions précédentes ont vu émerger des artistes tels que Logo (Kitsuné), Sydney Valette (élu album de l'année 2011 par Technikart) et Yan Wagner (Kitsuné, Blackstrobe Records et moitié de Flying Turns). Ceci n'est autre que la troisième itération de la série deBonton Grab Bag.

Les petits Frenchies de Caandides ouvrent le bal avec « Before the Art », un exubérant hommage électro-folk à l'inconscient humain et son protozoaire de la créativité. S'ensuivent les Canadiens de Chevalier Avant Garde qui offrent « Over The Fountain ». Après des apparitions à SXSW et Pop Montréal, leur mélancolie cristalline se destinait naturellement à une orbite plus élevée. L'heure est venue d'entamer une quête spirituellement robotique nommée « Stratospheric Treasure Quest » guidée par le jeune producteur parisien Polocorp. Au revoir la terre ! Plus loin, la batterie survoltée de « We Are Enfant Terrible » rencontre la voix langoureuse de Louis Aguilar and the crocodiles tears dans une improbable collaboration nommée Weekend Affair. Résultat : le délicieux sucré-salé « Boxing Queen ». Avec « The Fool », titre chouchou de Jarvis Cocker (chanteur de Pulp), Real Fur balance un gimmick tristement estival et nous fige d'une voix arrache-cœur. Ensuite, un des trois membres de Paris (avec Nicolas Ker de Poni Hoax), Mike Theis pose sur la table « 101 problems », une mixture inter-planétaire aux appréhensions célestes. Il est maintenant l'heure d'un « Goodnight » des baltimoriens de Royal Native : magnifique et luxuriante pièce qui semblerait puiser ses songes du fin fond de l'océan. De la brume épaisse retentit un cor de chasse. L'heure de clôture approche. Les deux Suédois bipolaires de Gidge nous invitent pour un dernier tour de manège épique nommé « Bring Your Horses ». Selon eux : « Nous sommes le silence assourdissant de la neige. Nous sommes le calme et la tempête. » Amour et violence.
 
Le jeune label pionnier deBonton poursuit son ascension et prouve une fois de plus que la scène électro-pop offre profusion de bijoux - à ceux qui savent où chercher.

Dear friends,
After a long time of hibernation it is time to reappear on the surface of the internet, I guess.
As many of you have been asking, I made a recording that continues the story of my „Travel Diary“, which started over two years ago.
So I am very happy to finally share „Travel Diary Part 2“ with you today!
It consists of tracks I produced over the course of this time, but never released or even used them for live playing. So now I am taking the opportunity to let them „out of the box“.
I really hope you enjoy it and to catch some of you at one of my upcoming summer shows!

Also I wanna take the chance to thank you all so much for your support over the past year, even though I had no musical output! 
It reminds me of the famous words by the poet Hafez, who said:

-  Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth “you owe me“.
Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky.  -

English producer and DJ Neville Watson will release his debut album on Dutch label Crème Organization in May 2013. Entitled Songs To Elevate Pure Hearts, it sees Watson explore similar ground to that of the EPs he has released on labels like Teng and Clone Jack For Daze dating back a whole decade.

Watson, who also set up Windsor’s much loved Mighty Atom record store and label, has become synonymous with re-interpreting classic Chicago house sounds in his own heavily analogue way. His productions often deal in an authentic rawness and roughness, whilst as a live specialist he has been much in demand in recent times thanks to boundary nudging outings at clubs around Europe with Bulgarian partner in Crime, KiNK.

The album offers eleven tracks, kicking off with the serene ‘Dark Star’ before immediately getting fractious with the twisted lines and crisp percussion of the title track. Though containing plenty of material for the dancefloor, so too is this a carefully programmed trip that takes you up as well as down, with the likes of ‘The Girl From Kowloon Tong’ exploring beat-less, melodically intoxicating territory between harder hitting joints like the widescreen, dubby techno of ‘Against The Tide’ and controlled, machine frenzy of ‘Everything I Know About House (I Learnt On Facebook)’.

Tracks like ‘Axiomatic’ prove Watson as adept at crafting occult moods and unusual feelings as he is the more physical beats and classicist stylings of the ode to real house music that is ‘Son of House’. Taking you up, down, backwards and forwards through time and space, ‘Songs To Elevate Pure Hearts’ does exactly what the title suggests, no matter how pure your heart.
