A new monthly series of mixtapes, in which we invite First Word friends & family to lace us with a selection of their soulful favourites, from across the board. For June's edition, we invite the Singapore-based, Darker Than Wax co-founder Dean Chew. On the mix Dean says:

'The mix moves through a tapestry of shades and moods - it is an extension of what I consider as ‘soul music’. As a selector, I have always been interested in the liminal, the in-between spaces, and how different genres of music can intersect with each other. It is at once intuitive and spatial, and that ongoing exploration never ceases to amaze. It has always been about the process, and getting closer to your inner soul - I hope this mix touches you in a personal way. Enjoy!'
