Cinco historias sin nombre - Capítulo VIII

La última vez que Adrián había visto unos ojos mirarlo así, tenia trece años. Y los recordaba como el corazón se acuerda de haber amado.

Esperaba el autobús. En realidad lo esperaba ella, que partía en uno de esos viajes de verano, que a veces duran toda una vida. 

Todavía tenía puesto el uniforme de la escuela. De alguna manera era así como él la había conocido, como se había enamorado de ella; vestida de escuela. Y era así como la recordaría por el resto de su vida; cuando él fuera otro, cuando ellos ya no fueran. 

Él buscaba sus ojos. Ella abrazaba sus manos. Le gustaban sus manos. Eran diferentes a todas las manos que había visto, eran las de él, y eran únicas, y conocían tanto cada recoveco de su cuerpo que casi las sentía suyas. 

Hoy sus manos le hablaban en silencio, porque lo que había que decir ya se había dicho, porque ahora era tiempo de abrazarse y dejarse sentir. 

Se habían prometido esperarse, encontrarse, de alguna manera volver a verse en los ojos del otro; pero sabían que la vida tenía otros planes. Sabían que al llegar el autobús habría una partida. Y lo que se partiría sería su amor, serían sus recuerdos que comenzarían a morir con cada kilómetro de distancia que los separara. 

Ella apoyaba la cabeza en su pecho, acurrucándose en el aire tibio que creaba ese recoveco en el mundo que formaban sus hombros. Y cuanto más lo sentía, menos escuchaba el murmullo de la gente, los ruidos de la estación y la llovizna, que en ese momento comenzaba a susurrar contra el piso. 

Al cerrar los ojos y envolverse en su respiración, ella sintió por un momento que quizás el mundo se había detenido, y ellos también en el tiempo. 

Él acariciaba su pelo, aferrando su cabeza, abrazándola para que ella no viera las lágrimas rebalsarle los ojos y regar su cabello. Es que en cada lágrima moría un beso, moría el primer beso, e inevitablemente el último, que ya estaba por llegar en cualquier momento. 

Ella se hundió un poco más en su pecho y empezó a sollozar. Sentía que algo en su interior se desgarraba, nublándole los ojos. Y dejó que sus sentimientos corrieran, como si corrieran hacia él en cada lágrima, como si un pedazo de ella se quedara con él, atrapado en la humedad que vertía de sus ojos y le empapaba el alma y la camisa blanca. 

Él la abrazaba con todo el dolor que vivía, con todo el amor que tenía, con toda la pena que su cuerpo sentía. Como si al llenarse los pulmones de su aroma, él también se llevara un retazo de ella inundando el aire de su pecho. 

Las razones ya no importaban, ni tampoco las promesas. De alguna manera nunca se habían amado tanto como en ese momento en que perdían todo, en que morían tanto, en que aprendían eso que sólo la melancólica tristeza de una pérdida te enseña. 

El autobús había llegado. Los dos lo sintieron, pero ninguno abrió los ojos para confirmar su existencia. 

Los brazos un poco más apretados; la falta de aire y un increíble peso inundándoles el pecho, confirmaban su presagio. 

La puerta se abría decisivamente, de la misma forma en que un ataúd se cierra por última vez. 

¿Cuánto tiempo sobrevive el calor de un abrazo? ¿Cuánta vida dura un recuerdo? 

El último beso agonizaba en ese último abrazo. Él la separó de su pecho con ternura, sabiendo que el espacio que creaba en ese momento nunca más pararía de crecer, de arrancarlos de ese amor que habían aprendido por primera vez en la voz del otro, en las manos del otro, en los ojos del otro que nunca más los miraría. 

Él le abrazó la cara con las manos y le peinó una ceja rebelde antes de secarle las lágrimas con una sonrisa. Ella tenía los ojos más tristes del mundo, y al mismo tiempo los más hermosos. 

El ruido de los frenos y el chofer expresando su impaciencia en el acelerador del autobús, confirmaban que ya era tiempo.

Ella lo miró a los ojos que se ahogaban entre lágrimas y lluvia, y con una sonrisa que se parecía a la que había iluminado su vida, le dijo entrecortada: 

- Mi amor, el beso te lo debo, te lo doy después, en un ratito. Espérame, ¿Ok?

Él trató de contestarle pero ella posó las yemas de los dedos en sus labios interrumpiéndolo. Sabía que al contestarle él tendría que mentirle, y ellos no se mentían. Ellos no. 

Adrián suspiró, quizás le faltaba el aire, quizás trataba de aliviar el peso de la inmensidad que habitaba en su pecho, quizás ese suspiro que se esfumaba en el viento era la única forma de decirle que la amaba en silencio. 

Ella le soltó la otra mano, titubeando por un segundo, pero se dio vuelta y empezó a caminar, mientras en sus ojos se ahogaba el mundo y la noche sin él. Corrió hacia el autobús sin darse vuelta, sin nunca mirar atrás. 

Él se quedó inmóvil bajo la lluvia contemplándola. Las puertas se cerraron detrás de ella, que en ese mismo momento se daba vuelta para tratar de encontrarlo del otro lado de las ventanas borrosas, pero sus lágrimas y la lluvia no la dejaron. 

El autobús arrancaba como una avalancha mecánica, paulatinamente achicándose en los ojos de él; hasta que la oscuridad se tragó al autobús, y a ella en la noche. 

Esa fue la primera vez que una mujer lo dejaba. 
Esa fue la última vez que una mujer lo dejó. 
Esa fue la última vez que una mujer lo miró con los mismos ojos que Milena lo miraba.

'Forgotten Child' is an incredible collection of demos, rare tracks and remixes recorded between 1995 and 1999, mostly produced by Nick Wiz and Main One's long-term producer Tic, and includes guest appearances from O.C., Chino XL, Smoothe Da Hustler and Trigger Tha Gambler. As you know, to celebrate my birthday every year, I always try to do my best to make some music & share it as a way to say thank you, but this particular project was a bit of a struggle. Originally I was going to make a sequel to "Excerpts From The SP1200" but unfortunately my SP1200 took a dump when I turned it on. My next resort was to plug up my MPC2000 & unfortunately as well, it's also buggin out; which means I have to get both of my drum machine samplers to get repaired (Forat, here I come). Plus I only started 2 weeks ago, which really didn't give me any time to really marinate because I had such a busy schedule. On top of that, just a few days before my birthday, I get sick & get some crazy rash on my hands. Yet, I wasn't going to let anything stop me for trying to get this done.


Of course I can always rely on my current way of doing production & use the Propellerhead Reason software but I wanted to really challenge myself. So what I did instead is was use Pro Tools as my way of making beats this time. No drum programming, playing keys & basslines; just straight chopping up, looping, layering samples from records, cut & paste style....basically, on some Raw Sh*t!! It was more tedious & time consuming than my other methods of doing beats, but I have to tell you, it was hella fun. I just listened to bunch a records, recorded it, sample, chop, & however the final product came out, mistakes & all, this is what you're listening to right now. No overthinking, just went with the flow. It was pretty liberating.


Anyways, as always, this is my way to celebrate another year on this planet & my humble way to say thank you to everyone that has directly or indirectly, supported, inspired, motivated me in one capacity or another. I am very thankful.
