Fingerstyle playing has been a passion for me for over 45 years, having fallen in love with it when I first heard a college friend play with his fingers instead of a pick.  It was mesmerizing and I determined then and there I must learn how.  This song is the first I wrote using fingerstyle and has followed me around now for over 40 years evolving as I learned more playing technique.  I think it is still evolving, but this is where it is now; shades of light and shadow, good times, difficult times, hopefully full of the Grace of God. It is a musical portrait of me.  Performance note:  only one guitar used, the Taylor JKSM, standard tuning, no overdubbing--strictly solo fingerstyle.

Set back and Let this flow come onto ya ...                                                                        It all began as an impromptu evening visit and morphed into a wonderful evening of musical magic...   
We recorded our Musical Conversations in Tim Elliot's living room with only one middling Microphone an Upright Piano and his Guitar suite, and I'm so glad we did!

Composer/Guitarist @davidjsvensson freely commented, "If the rest of the piece is even close to what the first two minutes were, then this is a masterpiece!!"  

So glad to share the results of this intimate honest and organic Live Jam with you all. I must say that i am looking forward to more such interactions with Tim. And i gotta say, 'Magic is Magic', however much Better one imagines it could have been.  :-D

My Tent Or Yours (featuring Joerxworx)

buddy did not like rock, but his influences are notorious in the best and most famous rock drummers who admired him and this would be his first rock, visit his magnificent technique and music on you tube, of course I'm working on more tracks with him.      -Buddy Rich began playing drums in the world of vaudeville as "Traps, the Drum Wonder" when he was only 4 years old; he was completely self-taught and his initial training was carried out through his performances in vaudeville, alternating his facet of musician with that of dancer and singer.

Around 1938 he discovered jazz and played in Joe Marsala's group, from which he left to join the Bunny Berigan orchestra. During 1939 he played with Artie Shaw (at a time when his orchestra was the most popular), and then from 1939 to 1945 (with a hiatus for military service) with Tommy Dorsey, on a historic stage. The prestigious Slingerland battery factory released a series of its famous "Radio King" box, with Rich's signature.

Rich formed a bop orchestra during 1945-1947 (which was not very successful), toured with Jazz at the Philharmonic, recorded with countless 1950s stars for Verve (including Charlie Parker, Lester Young, Art Tatum and Lionel Hampton), and worked with Les Brown, Charlie Ventura, Tommy Dorsey (1954-1955) and Harry James (between 1953-1966, without interruption). A heart attack in 1959 forced him to rest; he returned as a vocalist, although without forgetting the drums.

In 1966, Buddy Rich formed a big band that would be his main occupation for the last twenty years of his life. His heart began to give him trouble again in 1983, but it was impossible for him to give up music until his death from a heart attack in 1987. His remains are at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles California.

Once upon a time during my early elementary school days I was being interviewed on a TV station.  The interview went something like this:

Me: (in a very quiet voice) Debbie

Me: (in a much louder and somewhat offended voice) NO!! DEBERLY!!
I said my own name incorrectly on TV and it has been a little joke ever since. 
Sigh.

The epic saga, ‘Land of ZED’ continues! About 1 year ago, Uziel, Stonerjazz and I started a collaborative prog rock style concept album around the concept of ‘Johnny and his Magical Squeezebox’. We’ve been having a lot of fun playing with different styles, breaking all the musical rules, and writing our own soundcloud inspired mythology. 

For the past 3 songs we’ve been working with a new collaborator, Francesca (a.k.a. Zed) who has added a cool new twist to our sound.
And on this track we’re pulling in a fifth artist who contributed an amazing set of lyrics: Jo Richter (a.k.a. Sonic Structures and Silent Stretches). Thanks for joining us!

An unconscious exploration of the conflict and growth at the birth of a season, also the conflict within myself as I explore this art form further. I had no idea what was going to be explored within the music until it happened.

Our process started off with a simple repeating chord progression on the piano for Helen to improvise over. We gradually added more elements once the vocal parts were complete and the final element is a field recording of the dawn chorus, recorded at 5am in our back garden.

Impatient awakenings

Best described as eclectic, my style is a soothing mix mirroring my personality: mostly mellow with the occasional outburst. Although I have a background in classical piano I have always loved to create and improvise.  Since early childhood I have been trying to duplicate on the piano what I hear in my head.  Now I see how formal studies and improvisation fit together perfectly. I hope to always keep growing and learning, reflecting the beauty of Christ in all my endeavors. Thank you for your kind listening.

Genocide, June 2025:
Israel is only the executioner, every nation which has armed that country in the past year is an accessory to that genocide, an accomplice, a facilitator.  We cannot talk about war crimes because when you target unarmed civilians, mostly women and children, we are talking about a massacre, like terrorists do, not a war. The people who orchestrated that massacre, in the US, the most duplicitous, followed by those of the UK, Germany, France, and probably a few lesser ones should be tried for crimes against humanity just as well as Netanyahu and his cabinet, because it has been going on for two years, generously reported by media of all kinds, so the enablers knew exactly how the arms were to be used, as a tool for revenge, domination, and humiliation of the Palestinian people.  The conflict has ceased to be about the defense of anything for months.

The parties responsible have made a mockery of decency, morals, fairness, proportion, or justice, not to mention empathy.  Of what little there was, these concepts will be a lot longer to come back than they were to be struck down.

I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access.  Don't be mad if I have not replied to your message in the past two years, that's because I never got them ; ) ... You can always reach me here though.

You can't see it because of the angle with which I took the shot, aiming down, but beyond those blocks is the sea.  To the left is the Mediterranean, to the right is the Atlantic Ocean.  No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
