Through The Mist (feat.Sarah Golding)

I definitely "put my back" into this one! I don't really know how to categorize this. Basically started with a beat and some ambient synth and vocal textures (all vocs except the really high voice are my voice, not samples), and took off from there. Kind of ambient-beat-rock, I guess? Anyway, I really enjoyed putting this together, and I hope you enjoy listening as well! Be sure to listen through to the end to catch a fun little mash-up, "Who" might it be?? ;)

This song tells the story of the atrocities committed in the Congo under King Leopold II of Belgium. Millions of lives were lost through forced labor, violence, and exploitation in the pursuit of rubber and ivory.

Best described as eclectic, my style is a soothing mix mirroring my personality: mostly mellow with the occasional outburst. Although I have a background in classical piano I have always loved to create and improvise.  Since early childhood I have been trying to duplicate on the piano what I hear in my head.  Now I see how formal studies and improvisation fit together perfectly. I hope to always keep growing and learning, reflecting the beauty of Christ in all my endeavors. Thank you for your kind listening.
