Learn To Play Live 2025 - 2026 Assignments

Focused on 130 BPM, the use of only 6 elements in low/mid/high, and using my TR-6S with my SH-01a. I had the assignment for the Learn To Play Live hardware synth course to create a House groove with the limitation of presenting it all in only 2 minutes.

On the TR-6S I used the Woodkick, 606 Open Hi-hat, 909 Handclap, 626 Open High Conga and 808 Chromatic Bass. The sixth element, the organ vibe, was brought by using the LFO and Sub Oscillator on the SH-01a. On both boxes I played with the volume and on the TR-6S especially with the faders to keep the short groove flowing with dynamics. On the SH-01a I used the frequency slider to get some distortion for more punch. 
This assignment was very inspirational and much fun to do. I'm thinking about doing  a longer recording with all these exact elements to expand my creative idea with this track.

LTPL 2025 - 2026 Assignment – Week 2 Limitations

For this next challenge i had to create 2 grooves with a bass line that goes down on one groove and up on the other groove. 

After watching a YouTube video example made by Analog Kitchen and then the text of the assignment, I just freaked out because my brain did not compute what I was reading and my ears could not hear "it" what I needed to hear.
So I took my house groove from the previous assignment to get into it. I added the tips I got with that assignment to the existing groove. Then I went on from there after checking the presets on my SH-01a for an fitting up and down bass groove. I just went in for a jam to listen carefully if I had understood the assignment correctly.

This is my jam with the bassline upwards. BPM is 130, gear used is TR-6S and SH-01a.

LTPL 2025 - 2026 Assignment - Week 3 Play Bass Up or Down (DOWN)

Since I've started the Learn To Play Live course from Analog Kitchen in September 2025 I've got already so much information and homework to do. And I must say it really helps me to understand my gear better and also what I'm actually doing. 

So while I'm taking you all with me on my journey to become a professional live artist, here is the main assignment and goal I'll be working on during the course: Preparing for a 30-minute live performance with 4 to 5 tracks. This is part one. Gear used is my TR-6S and my SH-01A.
